great psu
Pros: High quality, quiet, powers a beastly gtx 760, and components, have pushed this so far with marathon gaming sessions without a single issue. Pretty solid well build PSU. Bought due to a positive track record with cooler masters previous gx line of psus.
Cons: no cons!
Overall Review: Ive always been a fan of coolermaster psus. I bought this because my old gx performed flawlessly, like a champ. I used this new one in my upgraded gamer build, old gx1 psu is still running solid in my guest gamer pc for when my buds come over. Solid and somewhat quiet. It powers an nvidia gtx 760 w/4gb vram and oc'd, with an amd fx cpu with 8gb of ram, and a 1tb wd blue drive with hoards of case fans and pretty led lights. works like a champ. I would recommend this for high quality gamer builds without breaking the bank. A+
burn out port
Pros: convinient, great concept, software isnt as bad as everyone claims ...thats about it.
Cons: Bad design. its IMPOSSIBLE to remove fans from ports. For some reason fan port 5 was burnt out. Unit got very hot. I checked the wires, different fans etc.. no dice on port 5. The fans cannot be removed unless you use a flat head screw driver to release the retaining clip. WHen I first received the device..... that same port number 5, the plastic peice inside wasnt flush and I had to push it in. Its just a really bad design. If you value your fans do not get this. It will thrash all of your fan connectors just trying to remove the fans from the thing. Does not indicate flat head MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS...read the full thing, ill explain. A screw driver is needed to remove fans, it no where mentions this in the instructions. The connectors were so tight once plugged in even with the flat head screw driver it completely ruined one fan, it stripped the pins on the fan just plugging it in.... baaad design. once plugged in the only thing that is visible is the fans wire and can only pull the fan out by the wire as you use a flat head screw driver...if that makes any sense. I would wait until they implement a new design, it is a great concept however but since this is the first gizmo of its kind, I would wait until revision 2 comes out, and wait until they acknowledge the MAJOR design flaw thats obviously present...if ever. Also when I first plugged the thing in it made my bios reset for some reason? IDK, but I would stay away. Especially since I get no telemetry data on port number 5 even after trouble shooting. After typing this im going to try and return it instead of getting a replacement.....
Overall Review: Buggy, major design flaws, would expect better from NZXT, ruins fans, strips wires and fan connectors. Ruined a 15 $ fan :(
Pros: great device to make fans more quiet. I dont have to get up anymore from my seat to increase my fan speeds or quiet them down. I can do it all from my chair right on my screen :) quite nice for the lazy type like me!!
Cons: kinda hard to remove fans from the device. I found using a flat head screw driver to release retaining clips makes the fans come out smooth. Or just shave off the nub on all of your fans connectors so that the retaining clip wont grab it, then it comes off easily from the device. Also sometimes if you dont release the retaining clip, the inner clip will entirely come out with your fan connector, also if you pull using the wire it will strip out the wires since a lot of force is required if you dont pull up the clips. use needle nose pliers to gently wiggle out the connectors by the SIDES when doing cable management along with the flat head screw driver to pull up the clips!
Overall Review: Other than OVERLY tight retaining clips its an absolute sigh of relief from noisy fans. Better yet you can control your fans without having to get up from your chair!!!!!!!! I hated getting up (my computer was far from my monitor) and turning the knobs up or down on my old fan controller. But with this I dont even have to get up. :) Also make sure that if you use the extender wires that you plug into 3 pin side and not two pin side. Because if you only plug into the 2 pin then you wont have RPM reading and stuff. I didn't realize it at first at thought one of my ports on this thing was dead but actually it just didn't have 3rd pin plugged in....fan still was spinning though. It was just an error my part and the port worked it was just spinning my fan low since i had it on silent mode lol... couldn't hear it... eh that's my 2 cents .. sorry for my horrible grammar.. tired from putting my rig together.. and groggy.. gonna get some sleep now that shes done :) also i wrote a bad review initially but i didn't realize i used the wrong dang wire lol....thought port was dead... so if my bad review shows up just disregard it.... >_<
great ram!
Pros: This Ram was for a gamer build. It looks good with a windowed computer case. Runs at stated speed. I havnt tried overclocking but I dont really do that sort of thing now a days. I bought it mainly because the cool heatsink design and fancy yellow color lol. It just looks really nice in my case, what can i say! lol.
Cons: Had to manually clock at 1600 in bios, but most ram requires this. But to a noob, they wont know to clock it properly. no big deal though for your average pc gamer geek.
Overall Review: works good! no problems! runs fast. I use this at 1600mhz w cas9 along with a gtx 760 with battlefield 4 on ultra. runs smooth as silk. No need to overclock.
good case, has some flaws
Pros: This is a really nice case, love the look, green leds are really fancy lookin', lots of case fans to keep everything cool, not a bad fan speed/led controller as long as you set it up properly.
Cons: Wires were a bit of a pain for the leds and case fans. Fan speed controller is really nice but a pain to wire properly, what i mean is that the connectors dont have covers for the un unsed wires this leaving exposed wires with prongs poking out which could easily cause a short circuit if it touches any components on the mobo. it shoulda came with some sort of connector covers for those 3 prongs sticking out on each wire. It was an easy fix though, Just used hot glue to cover the exposed prongs and then covered that with heat shrink tubing. Solved any risk of short circuit. the adhesive on the lables that identify which wire does what is very sticky and gooey and greasy, I ripped all of the sticker lables off and put my own lables with color coded painters tape. The case comes with these plastic wire clips to keep wires organized however they use a really low quality adhesive which does not stick to the innards of the case, i ended up glueing them in. the ones that were pre installed fell off initially when I put the wires in them. The fans in the case come with two wires; one labled fan and one labled led. So two wires per case fan minus the rear non led fan.
Overall Review: The amount of work to prevent a short circuit from the exposed male fan connectors was negligible but kinda required. If you dont cover them and they touch another exposed male fan connector it could short. Or of the length of the exposed male prong touches your motherboard it could short or cross some circuitry making bad things happen! But when everything is done right... you got a sweet looking case! other than the tidbits Ive mentioned its actually a really well engineered case. Every time someone comes over to my gamer room, they comment on how good the case looks.
great mobo
Pros: Inexpensive, high quality for the price, everything works on the first go, my build turned out to be rock solid in terms of having ZERO issues what so ever. So for just 'drop in everything/quick builds' I highly recommend this for no hassle builds that just work without worrying about configuring anything.
Cons: zero
Overall Review: Currently using this motherboard for a budget gaming build and its pretty nice for the money. I literally just dropped everything in and connected everything up, and everything just worked, simple as that. no problems what so ever. Not really into overclocking so Not sure how it will fare in that realm (it might be good at that too i'm not sure). But for a easy and fast build without any troubleshooting and no problems then this is the mobo for you. lol. im horrible at reviews...I know. but I thought I would give this 5 stars since everything actually worked on this first go! whoohooo! :D
