Pros: Compact, fast, classic Lenovo build quality and ease of use.
Cons: Some of these refurb boxes might be mislabeled and specs may vary a bit.
Other Thoughts: The first one I ordered was mislabeled. On the box and webpage item description it said X201 Laptop with core i5 520m @2.4 Ghz. I received an X201t (Tablet) with the low voltage core i5 520 iu @1.06 Ghz. This would have been fine, but it turned out the power adapter was faulty and it damaged the battery sensor/charger chip because the battery was unable to be detected or charged. Also, with testing, the processor was locked at the lowest multiplier (5) which made it only capable of running @600 Mhz (presumably from lack of proper juice from the faulty ac adapter).
Long story short, after an RMA, Newegg promptly shipped me the right item and it works fine and is in very good shape. Joysystems tech support was also responsive and helpful. I am very pleased with this purchase. Even though it is an older machine, it is a bargain at this price and Lenovo made quality machines throughout this period.
This review is from: Intel NUC NUC5PPYH, HDMI, VGA, Intel HD Graphics, USB 3.0
Pros: Compact, Quiet, Packed with all necessary ports and wireless features. Easy Windows 10 install.
Cons: Processor is adequate but lacking in clock speed. No dual channel memory. Integrated graphics are adequate but weak.
Other Thoughts: For the money this is a good option if you want to enter the modern mini-pc world with Windows 10. Installation was very simple, albeit slower than I expected even with installing from a flash drive to an SSD it took 30+ minutes.
This is a solid piece of technology, nothing mindblowing here except what Intel managed to pack into this little ashtray sized box. WinSAT Scores in Win10 Pro x64 with the free G.Skill DDR3 1600 4mb Ram and a Mushkin ECO2 SATAIII SSD are:
This review is from: AVS Gear W9870 USB Wired Slim Large Print LED Keyboard
Pros: Large print, two colors of backlight from a more subtle glowing blue to higher contrast orange. Relatively solid tactile feel to the keys.
Cons: Not really cons just minor points of contention: the keys do feel different as another reviewer pointed out, but not necessarily in a bad way. I'm just used to thinkpad keyboards which are the best imho. The keys do give a decent but not overly loud click and feedback but the action is smooth. Also, the light button switches from blue to orange with one click, but to turn off the backlight entirely you must hold it down for a few seconds, just a minor quirk nothing to dock an egg off for.
Other Thoughts: As long as it turns out to be durable this is a good solution for nighttime cybersurfers or gamers who want a basic easy to use backlit keyboard that wont break the bank.READ FULL REVIEW
