Pros: Same as previous reviews. eVGA Precision X is working good now. (Again I have no idea why it was not working in the first place, the whole system, hardware and software, was fresh and new.) Clocked up to 820MHZ GPU / 800 Memory with no issues at all. GTA4 is getting a consistent 53+ FPS and is totally smooth. Actually looks and plays significantly better than PS3 version. A good video card overall.
Cons: A total mystery why it was not working well from the start...
A bit of a hassle to get to perform well, but nothing extreme.
Pros: Same as previous review. Plays GTA4 much better now. Alot of re-intalling GTA4, DirectX, Video drivers, and GTA4 patches seemed to do the trick. ( Don't understand why, as this was a fresh system build and new Windows 7 Ultimate installation.) GTA4 patch 18.104.22.168 worked the best for me. 22.214.171.124 was very laggy for some reason. Getting about 47-50fps on in game benchmark. 1280x720 res, textures med. everything else high, dstances and traffic at 25. Not too bad now...
Cons: Kind of overpriced. EVGA Precision Xtreme causes GTA4 to crawl when SLIGHTLY overclocked. (Again, I have no idea why.)
Other Thoughts: Just about anything can work well, or at least somewhat well. Sometimes you have to persist more than you initially realize. Pretty decent overall. Still consider ATi a better value though...READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Very fast. Quad-core. 3.2GHZ. Installed GTA4 extremely quickly. Runs cool, about 43 degrees C after playing GTA4 for about an hour. Came with a Battlefield 3, full game download card. A big step up from an Athlon 64 X2 4600 socket 939 / Athlon 64 X2 4200 socket AM2...
Cons: Had to RMA the first one shipped out. (Along with 2GB DDR3 1333 RAM and ECS motherboard. One of these components was defective, not sure which as I did not have any Socket AM3 CPUs / MoBos or DDR3 to swap and test.)Was randomly crashing, locking up, and spontaneously rebooting.
Other Thoughts: Newegg gave me no trouble at all with RMA / replacement. The replacement CPU, motherboard and RAM all work perfectly. No troubles except some downtime. No big deal for me... Pleased.READ FULL REVIEW
