This review is from: Fractal Design Define R5 Titanium Window Silent ATX Midtower Computer Case
Pros: -Minimalist appearance makes it feel rather elegant for me.
-Longer and wider than my old case, makes everything feel less cramped.
-Very Good cable management and modularity.
-4 USB slots in front I/O (2 being 3.0)
-Remove the Center HDD cage, and you still can use up to 3 hard drives for the bottom cage!
-Accommodates all 120-140mm fans.
-Great clearance for any radiator cpu cooler.
-Built in fan controller!
-Middle standoff nub to help initial Installation!
-I love me some thumbscrews!
-Wouldn't be right to forget to mention the sound drowning material inside, this thing makes it more pleasantly quiet like my old 2010 Dell inspiron 570 was but with massively more cooling and style, such a Zen and minimalist case on the outside, I love it.
Cons: -No dust filter on the top, but im sure there's custom ones out there.
-Wish there was a sophisticated mounting solution, for a 3rd front fan if you decide to opt out of 5.25" devices.
-trying really hard to come up with a 3rd con, but I can't This case really really fits my needs!
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a CM Haf-912 and I don't regret it, I love this case and all its flexibility, it really gave me a chance to make my build look nicer for once with its stealthy black and white innards matching my motherboard and using its included 140mm fans, its very silent all around.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: - Pretty good card for 1440p Gaming, Perfect for 1080p Gaming.
- Has a really solid backplate, and Looks really nice.
- Ball Bearing fans and Intelligent Fan Controls in the card make it a long lasting card
-The Nitro version has a neutral grey and black color that shouldn't clash with most build aesthetics. (unless the blue UFEI LED ruins it for you)
-Custom PCB and power phase make this card unique in terms of overclocking stability, but also limited as I am not aware of custom water blocks for this particular model, in my humble opinion the triple fan is fine for me though, which is why I still see the custom PCB as a pro.
Cons: -Can obviously detrimentally affect the airflow and ambient temperatures inside your case, my cpu cooler suffers a 5-7C increase in temps during gaming during the summer, my solution was using the side fan slot in my case as an exhaust and this has saved my H80i Radiator heat outtake roughly by 30-40%, while you may think airflow is messed up, i had zip tied a fan where the 5.25 inch bays are to give airflow to the top part of my build since this card does cut airflow paths between each segment of the motherboard.
-I wouldn't mind if this card had some sort of Logo LED's, as there is no Vapor-X variant of the 300 series
especially for the price, but it at least has the UFEI button light up like a little sapphire gem which fits the cards name.
-I have Paired this Graphics Card with an overclocked FX 8350 @ 4.7 Ghz (1.48V), and a Core i5 6600k running at 4.5 GHz (1.248v), and I have used both CPU's for months on end for gaming on this video card, and I Love AMD and Intel equally, but if you use an FX CPU regardless of overclock, this card WILL bottleneck, I have used MSI afterburner and GPU utilization was very low whle CPU utilization in fallout 4 and GTA V were maxed out, and the card barely ran at its stock speeds at all and would hang around 500-700Mhz, this card is rated for 1080 mhz, after months of painful tweaking and trying different Overclocks, the intel i5 6600k changed my entire experience, that even at stock speeds gpu utilization was at 100% and clock speeds stayed around 1080 mhz in the gpu in almost all games, and games like fallout 4 were able to do the ultra present without frame drops due to the fact that shadow distance is hugely affected by CPU, so the point is, based on my extensive experience and testing, Use a good processor to get the best out of this card.
Other Thoughts: -I recommend good airflow in your case and good options for exhaust, if you use a dual radiator liquid cooling setup, i recommend having that same radiator as a push pull intake as this card will affect CPU temps greatly, especially in very hot/humid climates like mine during summer, as for heatsink coolers, try to route the gpu airflow through a different exhaust such as the side, it will save you a few [C] but it shouldnt affect most people honestly in the first place, this card is very sollid for 1080p and I played GTA V entirely Maxed out with FXAA at 1080p paired with a 6600k and my FPS only ever drops in certain scenarios where there is lots of grass, just brings me down to 52 fps. but nonetheless this is a good card, and if its on sale I recommend picking it up, you wont be disappointed. (just make sure you use a good CPU with this is all I can say, Read my con above for my explanation regarding CPUs)READ FULL REVIEW
