LG Electronics 14x SATA Blu-ray Internal Rewriter without Software, Black Model WH14NS40 - OEM
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Hasn't had an issue reading any discs I've given it thus far, including two that my previous BD-ROM drive was having trouble with. Also definitely appreciate the styling - the 'bump' of an eject button is quite nice, as is the use of a blue activity led instead of some other color.

Cons: None thus far.

ASUS GeForce GTX 670 DirectX 11 GTX670-DC2T-2GD5 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: The visible build quality and 'feel' of the card is top notch, as is the performance of course. There's no better stock cooler for a GTX 670 than what Asus delivers here.

Cons: The functional quality of these cards is somewhat questionable. It's not difficult to find a surprisingly large number of reports of failure after some period of time. In my case, I've had the card for just under 3 months and it's now causing my system to randomly black screen hard lock.

Other Thoughts: The real reason for the lowest possible rating isn't specific to the card - Asus' lack of even an option for advanced replacement. (They brag about their rapid replacement program for monitors and commercial products while waiting on hold for tech support, so it's obvious they're capable of doing so.) I don't remember what the last computer component I had to RMA that didn't have an option for advanced replacement from the manufacturer was... yet this card is the most expensive component I've ever bought and it's not even an option? Sorry, but this it's simply unacceptable to have to wait up to 4 weeks (1 week shipping to them, potentially 10 business day turnaround according to the RMA e-mail, and 1 week shipping back) to get a replacement for a premium product.
