ASUS GeForce GT 610 DirectX 11 GT610-SL-1GD3-L 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: as described, a like-new refurb part. Installed painlessly, works exactly as expected. Offers nice solid dual-display config on an older PC (HP tower that originally was running vista, woot). Dual core AMD with 4 gigs ram, just fine as a Win7Pro work horse still.

Cons: no negatives are noted yet. Hopefully it works until this PC is retired :-)

Other Thoughts: would recommend. only other comments, all fairly obvious. (1) Heatsink on this is pretty big, but did not interfere with nearby cards
(2) does NOT require any extra power connection cable, just plug it into the PCIE slot and you are done. Even on an old stock HP system with original manufacturer power supply, this works fine. ie, very modest power requirements.
Haven't actually done anything demanding with the card (ie, Gaming or 3d rendering). really this card was installed so we could do a dual-monitor config for a user running MS Office (Word, Excel, more excel, Simply accounting and Outlook - all open at once). And for this role it is just grand. Anyhow. Great value item for the purpose.

Acer C720-2827 Chromebook Intel Celeron 2955U (1.40 GHz) 2 GB Memory 16 GB SSD 11.6
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: less than 1 day

Pros: solid build quality, very light, CPU is VERY snappy
system boots 'instantly'
runs quietly, does not get hot even with watching full netflix movie
keyboard is decent so long as 'missing keys' won't bug you (delete, page up-down, etc)

Cons: I find the way the trackpad:mouse buttons (no dedicated buttons - you click the left or right bottom edge of track pad for a L or R click) - and how the trackpad behaves in general - makes it very hard to do quick-easy-precise copy-paste-cut type of text edit:manipulation work. I bought this unit with hope of using as a primary work laptop where I do extensive text prep work. For this role it isn't so well suited for my personal taste. Others may find that text is fine for their use (ie, basic email, URL navigation, basic doc typing without too much fiddley cut-copy-paste work).

Other Thoughts: after much angst decided to return unit after 1 day of testing. Newegg was awesome as always with prompt and efficient RMA service.
