ZALMAN Z1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower PC Case

2 out of 5 eggs Cheap case. 06/15/2016

This review is from: ZALMAN Z1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower PC Case

Pros: cheap
zalman so decent brand name
comes with 2 120mm fans pre-installed
I like that there is no fan duct on the side

Cons: cheap flimsy steel. Feels more like aluminum
cable management is not as easy as other cases

Other Thoughts: Just wanted a case for a cheap budget build. This one was on rebate but Zalman denied my rebate submission. I have filled out 30 rebates with out one denied. I emailed them since they have the bar code they say that they don't even though you can see it on their site.... so I knocked another star since I paid $10 more than expected for the case.

Fractal Design Silent Series R2 Black/White Silence-Optimized 140mm Case Fan
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Super silent, great looking, 140mm.

Cons: None so far I have 3 of these in my case.

Other Thoughts: 2 of these came with my Fractal R4 Define case so I bought this one so I could have two pushing air in the front and one exhaust in the back. These are great quiet fans.

ARCTIC Accelero L2 Plus VGA Cooler - nVidia & AMD, 92mm Efficient PWM Fan, SLI/CrossFire
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: keeps your GPU super cool
super quiet

Cons: you will need an ATX board or a micro with nothing below the video card since this thing takes up about 3 expansion slots - didn't knock an egg since its so super quiet and works well for what I needed it for.

Other Thoughts: Ends up my EVGA card was a 2pin fan adapter luckily it comes with a molex to 2pin adapter anyways.

Also keep in mind this is only worth the investment if you have a decent card. Even on sale for $20 this costs almost as much as many video cards nowadays.
