3 out of 5 eggs Decent Upgrade 01/05/2016

This review is from: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 960 2G

Pros: The price! For having the latest technology and higher memory, one would be hard pressed to beat the value that this card provides.

Cons: It is limited in its SLI capacity--not really a minus for me, but worth noting.
Added in edit: It runs hot and screams like a banshee doing so. That is definitely worth noting.

Other Thoughts: Knowing what I know now, I would pay a bit more for more memory and a better rep for keeping cool.

Rosewill THOR V2 Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes With Four Fans - 1 x Front Red LED 230mm Fan, 1 x Top 230mm Fan, 1 x Side 230mm Fan, 1 x Rear 140mm Fan

Pros: Very sturdy and very roomy. Excellent air flow.

Cons: Heavy, but that is to be expected with such a substantial rig.

Other Thoughts: It has all the features that higher priced towers do, including fan controls. I had to cut off the supports for a bottom fan in order to get my 1600 watt psu to fit, but not everyone would go for that much power. Don't put it off if you are thinking of building a new system.

ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: I am glad it has USB3 ports and recognizes higher range memory.

Cons: It is slow to boot up. Even after updating the BIOS, which is not as recent as I had hoped, it is still slow, and this notwithstanding having a ssd. Especially compared to the Sabertooth that I removed.

Other Thoughts: It is fast enough when it is in normal operation--just is really slow to boot.
