Pros: Ingress fan filters.
Detachable front leaves the wiring intact in the case (i.e. doesn't leave front attached by the panel wires). This is a huge + for me.
Comes with fans, fans also have braided covers on the wires.
Panel wiring is pre-routed behind the motherboard.
Motherboard standoff positions are clearly indicated.
Powder coat inside and out looks and feels good.
White and black contrast looks sharp.
Base mounted PSU
External watercooling compatible
Dual 140mm fan/radiator possible on top
Has a 140mm in front, additional space is for a 120mm though.
Cons: On the one I got, the hard drive trays were placed in awkwardly, this meant the white trays got their paint rubbed off on the rougher black powder coat. Not worth taking an egg off for but was still a bit of a grumble
Other Thoughts: I will definitely buy these again. They are just that bit better than my previous go-to case of the Antec 300.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Vantec Tornado 80mm Double Ball Bearing High Air Flow Case Fan - Model TD8038H
Pros: It moves a heck of a lot of air
Cons: So loud I'm wondering about tempering it with a fan controller.
Other Thoughts: The noise has a resonating quality that's not very pleasant. Maybe that's because I have two of them next to each other in a server case (which fortunately I can walk away from).
At 10W each, I'm going to need to carefully consider what fan controller to get.
Pros: Hotswap bays are very useful. Clean and simple to work in.
Cons: Sometimes the drive carriages do not align well with the connectors.
Fans seem a bit weak
Other Thoughts: Using this for a fileserver build with a Supermicro H8DCL motherboard and a '.Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 PCI-Express x4 Low Profile SAS RAID Controller'. Using these, I can populate all 12 available bays.
I am replacing the fans with higher RPM ones, since the included ones seem a bit weak.
For problems with aligning drive trays; removing an retrying often works. Make sure the drive is completely in the tray and maybe bias the angle towards the connector if it still seems reluctant.
