Great CPU

AMD Phenom II X4 945 - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM3 95W Processor - HDX945WFGIBOX
AMD Phenom II X4 945 - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM3 95W Processor - HDX945WFGIBOX

Pros: Super fast. Blow every other cpu I own away. My first AMD quad core is a Phenom 9650. It is not a bad CPU but I was not impressed. It is not much faster than my mobile T9400. But this one performs at an entirely new level. Approximately 80% faster than my phenom 9650. Also note that this is the fastest phenom II X4 at 95W, the maximum CPU wattage many cheap AM mobos support. If you own such a mobo, this is the fastest CPU you can get for it.

Cons: Well. The price dropped again right after I bought it.

Overall Review: With the stock fan, I've got the temperature going from 36 (idle) to 55 (peak). Not bad but a little higher than I expected.

Failure within 18 months

PNY 128GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive (P-FD128TBOP-GE)
PNY 128GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive (P-FD128TBOP-GE)

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Doesn't last

Overall Review: Bought two one and half year ago. One failed within one year. Fortunately, it was within warranty and I contacted PNY and had it replaced. Another one just failed on me yesterday. Beware of flash drives with short warranty and cheap price.

Expensive but very good

Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 (Unlocked) 16GB Black Mist 3G 5" Super AMOLED I9500
Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 (Unlocked) 16GB Black Mist 3G 5" Super AMOLED I9500

Pros: Very good phone. polished and fast. Better than iphone 5. bought it for my wife. She loves it.

Cons: Expensive. Google Nexus is probably a better deal. But this one looks better and is more polished. Battery time is a little disappointing.

Overall Review: Bought it for 745 CAD $. Its price has since gone up.

Dont believe what you are told

AMD FX-4100 - FX-Series Zambezi Quad-Core 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Desktop Processor - FD4100WMGUSBX
AMD FX-4100 - FX-Series Zambezi Quad-Core 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Desktop Processor - FD4100WMGUSBX

Pros: Nearly all benchmarks have shown this CPU performs badly. I bought one to see how bad it is. It is a pleasant surprise. It does much better than the benchmarks suggested. At least it is an upgrade for me from Phenom II x4. It is also faster than an i3 I have at stock. Now I've overclocked it to 4.3ghz and it flies. Among all the bulldozers, this one gives you the best value. AMD, unlike intel, dont strip features off their lower end models. So you've got the same set of features (aes, avx, ...) as 8150. For me, I can use aes (hardware encryption) right away since I encrypted all my hard drives by truecrypt/dm-crypt (yes, I'm paranoid :-).

Cons: Newegg prices it a little higher than it should be. I bought it from a local store for 5 dollars less and minus S & H. Also see below.

Overall Review: Retailers seem to have difficulty determining how much to sell it for. Some places price it as high as 150. I think 120 is the fair price. I believe it is the price after Christmas. Once piledrivers or Ivy bridges hit the market, this one can be had for < 100. But I'm not going to wait that long.

Great HTPC

Zotac ZBOX-HD-AD01 AMD Athlon Neo X2 L325 (1.5 GHz, dual-core) AMD 780E ATI Radeon HD 3200 Mini / Booksize Barebone System
Zotac ZBOX-HD-AD01 AMD Athlon Neo X2 L325 (1.5 GHz, dual-core) AMD 780E ATI Radeon HD 3200 Mini / Booksize Barebone System

Pros: Great HTPC. Very capable CPU. Much faster than an atom making it a better choice for HTPC than an atom Nvidia combo. Works with both XP and linux.

Cons: Getting hot quickly after a while.

Overall Review: Athlon Neo has become obsolete with zacate coming up. Cannot wait for new models coming out with these new babies.

Great HTPC keyboard

Rosewill RK-V1TP 88 Normal Keys 2.4GHz Wireless Touchpad Keyboard
Rosewill RK-V1TP 88 Normal Keys 2.4GHz Wireless Touchpad Keyboard

Pros: Great keyboard for HTPC. Works at distance with no issue.

Cons: a bit pricey.

Overall Review: I used the batteries included and had no problem. Just two weeks ago I received a package from Rosewill, which is a replacement battery hatch offered to solve the leaking problem reported by some users. Although I dont need it, I would give Rosewill a thumbup for dedicated customer service.
