Pros: I REALLY love this machi9ne. It runs XP very well with 2 GB of RAM and some careful pruning of the filesystem. Handles Office 2007 and Microsoft Expression software well enough for my purposes. GREAT for e-mail, web-surfing, and watching videos. Super portable. Also, it looks great, and is a superb conversation starter!
Cons: The storage is divided between a 4 GB faster module with the operating system and a slower 8 GB module for data and files. This has been lead to tons of creative, klugy work-arounds for me to get the programs I wanted to use on.
Other Thoughts: Probably best to get this only if you're willing to use lighter-weight alternative apps (like OpenOffice) or if you have some technical know-how to work around the system's limitations. One of the best computers I've owned (at least for the first two weeks), just for how functional it is for its tiny size.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Plugged in and started working with it right away. Decent read and write speeds given the bus in my machine. I'm using it in a PC with no optical drive, and I've put disk images of application media on it and used it to install. Great value for the money.
Cons: None I can see.
Other Thoughts: I bought this with an Asus Eee 901 to expand its storage capacity. I'm using it to hold media with a high turnover (like podcasts), pictures and Office files I'm working on. Works great so far.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: PQI 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model MAC22GUOE
Pros: Installed easily in my Asus Eee 901. Instantly recognized 2 GB in XP. Performs well--no issues after 2 weeks of moderate to heavy (for this machine) loads. Can't beat the price.
Cons: None I can see.
Other Thoughts: I have only had the RAM for couple of weeks, so it may have issues I haven't encountered. I have read an unusual number of negative comments about PQI products, but this one is as advertised and doing what I need from it.READ FULL REVIEW
