5 out of 5 eggs Ugh! These reviews - Guys... this printer is fine! 12/23/2016

This review is from: Pantum P3255DN Duplex 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi USB Monochrome Laser Printer

1.High quality prints, no streaks, blemishes and very simple to setup.
2.EVERYTHING is straight-to-the-point, basic and for this price, it's NO WONDER they're sold out. 3.Driver disk was in English; setup was smooth, even through the network (which is how we have it setup).
3. A VERY SIMPLISTIC DESIGN! They got it right, overthere... so when paper jams (Haven't had this problem yet) it's EZ2 remove it; paper problems can't hide at all because you can access the back as well.

Cons: 1.Haven't found a way to turn off SNMP yet - we don't need this feature.
2.Cartridges cost a mint, but I'll pay it for as long as I get this level of quality out of it.
3.We couldn't buy another at $39 you guys sold out!

Other Thoughts: We purchased this via Newegg thru thEbay so we may (or not) pass "verified purchaser" and I have to say it is very quiet (can hear dehumidifier over printer when running). Things you'll need to know about before setup (our setup: Win7-64, Static-gigabit Ethernet LAN & USB):
1. Printer default address = > User = admin, Pass = 000000 [source:CDROM/English/Document/Manual/introduction.html] so set your comp IP address to
NOTE: If your Network = DHCP; no problem, you'll get IP address assigned. Above = STATIC SETUP! & Yes, manual IS in Eng.
2.Remove all blue tape, even the inside-cartridge strip tape too (inside printer: you'll have to remove cartridge, mk?)
3.If USB you should be ok - this is for Net install.
TO TEST: Make sure no red lights & wait, Hold down only button on top until you see stuff happening with lights, sounds... etc., making sure you have printer armed with paper, mk?

MSI Gaming N760 TF 4GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Flawless mainstream gametype gameplay. Excellent rendering and plenty of RAM to go on!

Cons: The video card currently won't Play Blockland; a Steam-Supported, less-than-4Megabyte .exe file, 3D-Virtual World of just Blocks w/chat-Networking capabilities.
This software is based on the famous Torque3D engine, which utilizes the OpenGL Driver, however once the Blockland generated .BLS file reaches over 11MB the OpenGL Driver fails for this video card. The card was swapped out for a simple HIS IceQ X Turbo H695QNT2G2M with just half the gigs of the this one and it worked fine well above 11MB!
NOTE to Point: Mobo was a simple gigabyte 78L series mobo under both tests, with a 85W 8-core Black edition processor & 8GB RAM
nVidia (this vidcard) Doesn't play too well with Linux, making me regret buying this card in the first place. Perhaps looking up a video on YT from Linus expressing his thoughts on nVidia will explain my frustration. This has been an ongoing problem with nVidia. This will be the last time I buy nVidia chipsets because of that and the OpenGL error messages I keep getting after loading up my city.

Other Thoughts: I received excellent framerates with APB however this card is from nVidia so an iNtel motherboard is your best companion for such a card but keep in mind iNtel BIOS users beware if you love your privacy!
I also recently learned that nVidia (the Company) isn't too kind with the Linux community so this limits nVidia's ability to work with a diverse range of operating systems which is quite crutial in today's economy.

Software-diversified video cards are the BEST choices for consumers especially if you're spending this kind of cash on single FRUs (field-replaceable) for longevity's sake.

With nVidia brings great disappointment, so I'll stick with AMD instead for now.

Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: 2TB

Cons: 1.WARNING: Start worrying after 2 years of useage.
2.If Temperatures are too cold this will destroy the heads in the drive.
3.Seagate places the SMART, bootloader and additional firmware onto the plates.
This is a problem because you no longer can swap out controller cards to troubleshoot and repair drives with controller failure issues.
4.Seagate isn't taking our requests seriously enough to do something about the Barracuda(TM) brands.
5.Diagnostic ports on Seagate are unauthorized for use by consumers who are trying to retrieve their data.
6.Their data recovery is pricey!

Other Thoughts: This isn't the only Seagate that crashed in the last 4 Years of buying them and if you do decide to... 2 things: buy in sets of 2 & Don't take your data seriously once you place it all on these pancakes.
Drive life -
From: 12-01-2012 to 1-08-2014

Useage: External HDD (BACKUP DRIVE#1) - Replaced 2 out 4 of the ST31000528AS previously purchased (two ST31000528AS have since crashed).

Problem: Head crash (Mechanical Failure)
Here's what it's doing after 2Years of off/on operation from yet another unhappy customer who courageously(!?) decided to open his up: wDH6QQE4NUs ( the you tube)

Root Cause: Reason to believe, those blistering record-temps of Jan,2014 may be the possible culprit for the failure of this drive. It squealed like a pig before it did, giving the indication that head-wise this wasn't good. Could the culprit be condensation?

OVERALL: If you buy this drive, Seagate already knows the life expectancy of it and therefore warranty it just shy of that (like every company do). Barracudas crash, and they crash hard, beit software/firmware/hardware related it doesn't discriminate while taking your backups to the toilet. "Leave the Barracudas in the sea of gate."

1.Seagate. Please make your HDDs accessible via the onboard diagnostics port to us all so we can truly see savings. Because with open source, everyone wins.

2.Please place HDD bootloader, diags, maintenance software all BACK onto the controller card, rather than the inner-plates so if ever the controller board crashes, it won't take partial firmware with it as we go to swap controller boards out to attempt to quick fix them or t-shoot.

3. Seagate. This is our data you're toying with. Please state pros/cons, applicable situations and life expectancy statistics on your FAQs page regarding all your drives (never happen) as to inform/warn us ahead of time.

Debug output you'll be facing once your Barracuda drive crashes:
