Pros: BEAUTIFUL screen. 120hz rocks new 3D games. Stereoscopic vision also fun to play with, though dizzying after even a short use.
Cons: Pricey. Lasted less than 6 months. After 5 months the monitor was unable to remain on for longer than an hour. After that it would black out. Called Samsung support, had to pay $90 to get it shipped to California for repair. 3 weeks later I get it back. No change. STILL had the same problem the same day I got it back. I even included a detailed description for the repair techs. What a joke for an already pricey monitor. I'll be asking for my money back this time around.
Overall Review: This is likely incompetence on the side of the repair center they use. Regardless, it was extremely poor. I'm out 3 weeks and $90. Never had this problem from any other manufacturer.
Pros: 120Hz refresh rate is absolutely amazing in first person shooters. It has been years since I played anything with a monitor that refreshed faster than 60Hz, and now I know I won't be able to make the jump back, ever. Color reproduction is great with DCR on. Everything has a very vivid look to it. I was not, however, able to get anywhere near the same look while just playing with the settings, if you want the best colors, it's best to turn MagicBright on. The OSD is easy enough to use while the buttons are placed to the side to keep the front of the monitor looking clean. When you press the menu key, the monitor will display the function of the buttons so you don't need to look at the side of the monitor to know what to press next. Overall, this monitor is very aesthetically pleasing and is not extremely flashy, the glossy black finish looks extremely nice in the light.
Cons: Price, of course. It costs well over twice as much as a 22" LCD with a 60Hz refresh rate and similar features. But it's top-of-the-line as of this moment, so paying a premium is expected, the price should go down within the next few months, at which point I'll probably pick up another. The plastic used for the frame of the monitor feels cheap compared to the other LCD monitors I own, this will probably never be a problem as it just sits on the desk, but for the price paid, I'd have liked a bit higher quality material to be used, but I guess it had to be sacrificed for performance, which I'm OK with. The glossy black finish reflects everything, if you have a Playstation 3 you'll know what to expect, not a major con, but a minor annoyance at times, I'll adjust to it over time. The stand is wobbly. As far as I can tell, it's the rubber used to hold the stand in place and act as a shock absorber, when the monitor moves, it takes it a few seconds for it to settle down.
Overall Review: Overall, I'm totally overcome with how great everything looks when using this monitor. When playing games, especially FPS', 60Hz compared to 120Hz is like night and day. Colors look great, but reds can be really intense with DCR on. Greens, blues and everything in between looks incredible, so blazing reds aren't really a problem in my book. The cons I listed are very minor and don't detract from the overall performance of this monitor. Gaming performance is the only reason to own one of these at the moment. Movies look the same as far as I can tell, as does web surfing, probably the only difference you'd notice in regular usage in windows is the fluidity of the mouse cursor while running at 120Hz. If you're a gamer, this is THE monitor to have right now. A higher resolution one may come along soon, but for the time being, this is as good as LCD gaming gets. Also, I have not tried 3D gaming with Nvidia glasses, only got the monitor for the high refresh rate.
Pros: 120hz. This goes without saying. It is a night-and-day difference. Everything I do, all manner of gaming, web-browsing and movie-watching have never looked nearly this good. I am a computer technician who looks at dozens of screens every week from price ranges of 300-3,000 bucks, this is hands down the best computer monitor I have ever seen. The color modes are great. Text is very sharp. By far the least amount of eye-strain I've had looking at a monitor. Easiest thing on the eyes since my overpriced flat-panel 120hz CRT, with substantially better color. OSD is intuitive and the buttons are solid. The panel feels substantial and well built. No dead pixels. Contrast is perfect. Not having to calibrate it at all and having excellent color/contrast is icing on the cake. I was worried about the 5ms response time, but that was silly. The 120hz refresh is by far the most important thing. It is infinitely smoother than the 2ms screen I replaced with this panel.
Cons: None. The stand is thin but fine. Assembling it is a little weird but I like the design when I think about it. There's a little give between the screen and the stand (hence: wobbly) but I'm less worried about them stressing or breaking when I move it around (which is frequently, because I show it off to everyone). The only cons are that the pros section only takes 1,000 characters, and I can't give it more than 5 eggs.
Overall Review: This is the 5th LCD I have purchased since I decided to finally give up my CRTs about 2 years ago. Each screen has been from a different manufacturer. This screen completely blows them all away, and I'm more than a little sad that I finally have to throw out the 50lb CRT monsters haunting my basement. I purchased this along with an entirely new rig, with a core i7 and a GTX 285. Having a new computer capable of capping games at 120 fps with this amazingly fast screen makes for the most visually pleasing gaming experience I have ever had. Buy this monitor now. Oh, and use the DVI cable that comes with it for 120hz.
Pros: Who makes better monitors than Samsung? The reason why I purchased it is because it can go up to 120hz, not for the 3D vision (even though it's a pretty sweet feature). Playing games like Counter-Strike, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, or any other game for that matter is VERY smooth. However, there is a noticeable 5ms ghosting. If you have good eyes like me, you will notice it. But coming from a 75hz monitor, this monitor is 10x better for everything that I do. Everything seems to run very smooth on it, from movies to games. It's very easy on the eyes (if you adjust the colors properly for your own pleasure). There is no better feeling than playing games now on 120hz. NOTE: This monitor is HDCP compliant, but you will have to change your hertz back to 60hz if you want to watch Blu-Ray movies. DVI's can only go as high as 75hz. If you try watching HD movies on 120hz, Cyberlink PowerDVD will give you an error. Go to 60hz and HD movies will work on this monitor.
Cons: 1. The price. It's too high for so little features. Even the design of this monitor isn't that great. Seems a little bulky to me even though it's very light. I wish the design was more like the XL2370. 2. Only has 1 DVI port. (No HDMI or a second DVI port). This only limits it's features. 3. It has a very slight color bleed on the top, but you barely notice it unless you're really looking at it. 4. In some games, the lighter blacks look more like washed up grays. Nothing annoying, but you will notice it if you really look at it. 5. This monitor doesn't come with too many features. The menu is still looks the same, meaning that it's not updated and nice looking like the XL2370's menu...but it's not a problem. 6. If you don't use the Dynamic Contrast ratio option on this monitor, you'll have to spend sometime adjusting your colors to get them to look good...it's worth taking the time to do it, otherwise the monitor's default colors will look like sh*t.
Overall Review: 1 DVI only limits this monitor's features. The colors aren't as good at the XL2370 (Even though I know that LED is better, Samsung could have at least worked some more and improved the coloring on this monitor). I'd say if this monitor was $240, it would have been the right price. Just because it's 120hz and can support "3D vision kit" it doesn't mean they needed to hype up the price. I can see myself replacing this monitor within another year or two with the next generation of 120hz monitors (and something larger than a 22" next time). If you ask me, this monitor is excellent for gaming (the shades of the good old 120hz CRTs). If you don't play games, then don't waste your money on this monitor. If you're a person like me who's on the computer a lot playing games, doing graphic design, internet, and everyday stuff, there is nothing better than this 120hz LCD out now. Everything else just isn't worth it at this point in time, not even the Alienware 120hz or acer 120hz.
Pros: 120Hz screen is a big pro on this monitor. As other people have stated it makes a difference even on the desktop. I'm using windows 7, and a lot of things on the desktop seem a lot smoother. The biggest difference I noticed was when moving around windows, there's less of a trail when moving windows around and the windows don't tear if you move them around quickly. In games this monitor is great. I tried it with a couple FPS's (BC2 and L4D2) and it works great for both. In L4D2 I can lock the game at 120fps with maxed out settings, it really looks fantastic on this screen. In BC2, I can only push about 50-70fps while playing, but the game still benefits from a high refresh rate screen. On my old LCD I got really bad screen tearing in BC2 since vsync is broken in it. With this LCD the screen tearing is non existent, I have not noticed the screen tear once while I've been playing since I got this monitor.
Cons: It's still a TN panel, and still uses a CCFL backlight. The backlight bleed isn't bad, as other people have said it has a little bleed on the top and bottom edge of the screen, and it's only noticable on a black screen. I came from an IPS panel so the colors seem a little washed out. They looked terrible out of the box but after adjusting the settings quite a bit I got the colors to look quite nice. Still not as good as my old IPS, but it's not bad enough for me to take any eggs off for it.
Overall Review: The OSD on this display is nice, my older LCD had a barebones menu so it was refreshing to get something with a menu that has a lot of settings. Out of the box the picture quality was pretty terrible, the brightness was maxed and the contrast was too high. Also everything had a blue tint. After some thorough adjusting it looks really nice though, so don't get too discouraged if the picture looks kinda bad out of the box.
Pros: Love it. Gaming feels just like it would with my old 19" CRT with the 100/120 refresh rate, but it's much more light and takes up wayyy less space. It's pretty fun to stare at it. The design looks neat.
Cons: None about the monitor itself. When it comes to gaming, some dark areas in games seem a bit darker than usual, and the colors feel a bit different from my old CRT. But, that's just me. I just gotta adjust to this a bit. The only problem that I had was attaching the stand to the monitor. It took quite some force, and I couldn't really tell if it was firmly attached. It would've been nice if there was some sort of clicking sound to clearly make sure that it was in. Other than that, this is fantastic. I would definitely recommend this to any hardcore gamer.
Overall Review: Gonna use this sucker till it breaks >:]. Haven't tried 3D gaming yet, but certainly will in the near future!
Pros: Super sharp! Bought for gaming and games look amazingly great! Haven't gone 3D yet cause that's another $200 or so. Easy and fast stand setup. No dead pixels! I'm glad they dropped its price from $400 cause with tax, shipping and that stupid recycling fee it would'a been close to $500!
Cons: None that I have seen yet.
Overall Review: Upgraded from a 22" ProView monitor. The difference was like night and day. Everything is more enjoyable, even typing this review!@#

Pros: First of all, I write and score this review based on the monitor being the flagship 3D Vision display Nvidia suggests with their glasses. In this area, it excels in some places but leaves much to be desired in others. Where it excels, it shows. Going to 120 Hz in non-3D mode was a noticeable improvement in smoothness and clarity. It became easier to follow fast-moving objects and made everything a bit clearer when whipping the mouse around in first-person shooters. The color quality is also very notable, as well as overall clarity and definition. In 3D mode, this quality transfers nicely. When in 3D, you are viewing two images at once, and if you're playing at 1680x1050, the resulting image is - in a word - breathtaking. Because you're viewing two angles at once, your brain is processing twice the amount of pixels and feeding two images of data. The result is considerably heightened perceived detail for the viewer. Even people used to 1080p will be blown away by the clarity.
Cons: A big one. REALLY big. Whenever you enter 3D Stereo mode, the brightness is locked at 100 (the awful blaring maximum), and the contrast is locked at 75. Oh, and by the way, all other color settings are locked and brought to a godawful pre-set as well. After a brief conversation with someone from Nvidia, I've learned that Nvidia worked with Samsung to enforce this pre-set so the first 3D Vision monitor wouldn't have too many customer complaints, under the assumption that too many people would alter the brightness outside of levels workable with 3D Vision, not knowing how to return it. I was a bit perturbed to say the least when I learned that Nvidia didn't think 'advanced' users (if you call being able to change brightness advanced) should be able to decide for themselves what settings are fine with 3D Vision, and instead gave everyone the same pre-set which leaves much to be desired.
Overall Review: 3D Vision aside, this is still a great monitor. However considering 3D Vision is one of this monitor's main purposes and it frankly needs work in that area, I can't give it more than a 3 egg. If you're looking to get a 3D Vision display, your best option is a DLP TV. Even the Viewsonic monitor doesn't let you change color/brightness when in 3D, just like this one. Nvidia got to them too =/
