Fast Little Drive 4/26/2009 2:56:14 PM

Pros: Very fast drive. Low power consumption, gained 1 hour of battery life on my Asus 904HA. Very good price for SLC

Cons: None

Overall Review: People, this is a 1.8 form factor drive, and as such it is not a direct bolt in replacement for a 2.5 and 3.5 form factor drive. This is no more a con than buying a wheel for a Honda CRX and having it not fit your Ford F250 4X4 pickup. I installed it in my Asus 904HA netbook with an IBM 42W8019 plug adapter and caddy. The adapter for the plug worked, but the caddy for the drive needed to be trimmed. Then I used some double sided tape to hold it to the original Asus drive bracket. The Asus motherboard provided the nessary 3.3 volts as the 42W8019 adapter does not reduce the voltage...you must have 3.3 volts available to use the 42W8019.

If you install Windows XP, align your partition. Lots of info on this on a well known Memory / SSD mfg forum.
Hint: Their name is three letters

how do you connect them? 4/4/2009 7:03:02 PM

Pros: don't know

Cons: how do you connect? Now I have to hunt down 7-pin wafer power adapters or 9-pin or whatever it is

Overall Review: will post another review when/if I get them connected

Great SSD for Price!!! 3/28/2009 6:58:39 PM

Pros: This IS a SLC drive and is about the size of a credit card. Silent, small, no heat, the norm on SSD. Installed Vista 64 on my q6600 in about 20 min and still have 10gb left. HD score is 5.9 in vista. Everything is instantaneous like my eeepc. Great product overall.

Cons: Only reason I didnt give it a 5 is because the connection is weird and hard to find an adapter to it. Look on fleabay for a microsata adapter, sata connection is normal on it but the power adapter is 9 pin rather than 15 pin.

Overall Review: Running Vista 64 on;
Q6600 OC 3.15
GA-965-S3
4gb DDR2 1066
9600GT
