Pros: For the price, I think it's an incredibly nice monitor. I play CIV 4 and when scrolling across the map there is only the slightest of motion blur. In other games: TES Oblivion; Titan Quest; Call of Duty, I do not notice any ghosting; perhaps it is exists, but not that i have been able to see. The colors are rich and vibrant; saturation is excellent, although required some adjustment with the magictune software; the range of hues seems greater than with other 6 bit panels I have owned. The contrast level seems quite good. For example, I now notice gradations of gray in applications (Outlook Express received column for one) in areas which appeared white on previous LCDs.
Cons: I ordered two of these, one for my wife, and one for myself. The first morning after set up I found a two-inch-long line of blue, stuck pixels in the lower right corner of my monitor. I've purchased eight different LCD screens, from various manufacturers, through Newegg, and this was the first I had any pixel trouble with. Of course Newegg made this right. The magictune software is kind of a PITA. I run a 7950gt and a couple of times at boot the magictune hasn't recognized it, a software update from Samsung, will fix this. The magictune is also somewhat difficult to use when attempting color calibration. This is a fault with the screen as, unfortunately, head movements of an inch or two change the appearance of the color saturation levels on screen. This, however is not noticeable to me during regular use.
Overall Review: I do not have any equipment with which to measure the accuracy of the advertised specifications. I do have a fairly good basis for comparison, as I have owned several LCD screens. I find the 931c surpasses the vx924 in response time, color saturation and contrast levels. It bests the al1916fbd for color saturation and contrast, but seems similar in response time. It equals the vx922 in response time, but colors and contrast are better. However, the 931c does fall behind in viewing angle to the vx924, vx922 and al1916fbd, as well as the 740b from Samsung. In the end I'm satisfied with my purchases, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this monitor to others.
