Pros: This drive is very quiet, offered tremendous value, has been error free for over 1.5 years, and is very good as the programs files directory in a SSD+HDD environment

Cons: There is not a SATA 6 32Mb cache version available...

Overall Review: This is/was the pinnacle of price/performance/size for over 2 years and very few problems have been reported. Recommended to anyone.

Pros: got this for a build for my daughter installed and put windows 7 pro on it no problems it took about 30 minutes from start to up and running with it so about average drive price was good selling point

Cons: it is not a western digital black but then it not cost the same either

Pros: Works fine, very fast as hard drives go. Quiet and cool running. Great value for the money. Used Samsung in the past and I've never gone wrong with them- not a single failure.

Cons: Not an SSD, but that goes without saying.

Overall Review: Mine hasn't shown any signs of failure in SMART or otherwise yet, but as disk densities increase, a failure can mean more data loss. Saving up to get another one for RAID.

Pros: Bought for a RAID array. Works wonderful. Price per GB is so low right now you can buy a 1TB drive for just about every PC system.

Overall Review: I find it funny that suppliers still make 160GB 320GB drives when this drive and others are so inexpensive per GB

Pros: The title says it all - if you are waiting for SSD's to mature but wants a fantastic price/performance point RIGHT NOW- I humbly submit the Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ. Put 2 of them together in RAID 0 at default 64kb stripe and default sector size and sit back. Bursts were up to 480MB/sec on ASUS M489GTD PRO/USB3 I was just amazed. Just freaking mind boggling. I remember striping 4 Maxtor 40 giggers to break 80MB/sec and being impressed when I could later do that with 'just' 2 x 74gig Raptors. But this. For the price these things are selling at? I should have bought 4.

Cons: Random Access is a little on the weak side for me - I'm used to the 10k RPM Raptors low seek times - this array benched around 13.2ms which is still very decent but it's a weakness for anyone running servers with high I/O.

Pros: I posted my initial review using number from HD Tach sometime around 6/27. Flash forward a couple months of 24/7 service running my processors at 100% 24/7 crunching numbers for Rosetta@Home and I can tell you the drives are running just fine. Ran the crystalmark disk benchmark suite on a 2 drive Raid 0 setup. This is the boot partition and it was about 120 gigs utilizing the outer edges of the platters. This is copy & paste right off the report. FYI. Sequential Read : 282.217 MB/s Sequential Write : 270.740 MB/s Random Read 512KB : 56.165 MB/s Random Write 512KB : 119.215 MB/s Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 0.694 MB/s [ 169.4 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 3.534 MB/s [ 862.7 IOPS] Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 1.575 MB/s [ 384.5 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 3.391 MB/s [ 827.8 IOPS]

Cons: As I mentioned in my initial bench - if you are in a holding pattern on SSD's as I am and trying to plan your best bang for the buck but want something solid NOW - you can't go wrong with these . Fastest drive on the planet selling under $275 a unit. The single drive benches I've seen over at Tom's Hardware put this right behind the 600 gig Raptors and I mean - RIGHT BEHIND. If you're buying 15,000rpm SCSI and SAS you are spending 10 x the money to beat this drive and even then - not by so much it's noticeable in anything but synthetic benchmarks. Does photoshop open twice as fast? Not from what I see. Raiding two of these Samsung's is only going to make you want to raid 3 and 4, Make sure you have a good PSU.
