Pros: Allows 3rd monitor with R9 270X. Clean signal, recognized instantly with computer powered on during initial hookup!

Overall Review: Bought a third monitor for my R9 270X to do Eyefinity and just have more screen real estate. When it didn't work I found that I needed an active display port adapter. I have this hooked up to a DVI, along with with one native DVI and one HDMI (which I am using for sound passed through my ASUS monitor because my on board sound died years ago after a lightning strike) This is as much a shout out to the quality of the MSI R9 270X OC Gaming Edition as this adapter. Everything worked immediately and is smooth as butter. :)

Pros: Did exactly what I wanted it to do. I was able to hook up my third monitor for Eyefinity. I like that this is active and less than most of the other adapters that I've seen out there. I'm also happy with it in action. No lag between the monitor hooked up to this one and the other two monitors even when gaming. I also like the small size.

Cons: The connector on mine was a little stiff and I had to really push on it hard the first couple of times to get it into the DisplayPort on my video card.

Overall Review: Using this with a 21.5" Acer monitor and Radeon HD6850. They seem to work just fine.

Pros: Should make a 3rd monitor work

Cons: Tried to do it from a cold boot already plugged in and screens would all stay black. So i booted using 2 and then plugged it in and my computer would crash or freeze. Tried 2 using dvi and 1 displayport and then i tried 1 dvi and 1 hdmi and 1 display port no matter how i hooked it same results.

Overall Review: Tried numerious ways to make it work and it wouldnt. Still thinking of wasting the 5 or 7 dollars to ship back but not really worth it at 25. By the time i buy the envlope and ship it and my time im way over the 25. See what happens this week.

Pros: I've tested the cable a few ways I've tested it on a PowerColor AX5770 for the 5 monitor support and it worked flawlessly (Please note that past the 2nd or 3rd monitor all monitors must be single link DVI not dual link DVI if you don't know the difference google it because a VGA TO DVI won't work more than likely) I've also tested it on 2 SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100284VXL Radeon HD 5750 graphics card for a total of 6 monitor support and had all 6 running perfectly singled linked on the adapters and dual linked on the cards DVI ports. The big thing about this if you're using eyefinity and you want it to be perfect just make sure you have "SINGLE LINK DVI CABLES" If you plan on using multiple monitors make sure you look at some images between the difference and look at your current cables to ensure you have no problems. I wanted to make this review to help people because a few weeks ago I was wondering how it worked and nobody had anything posted. Hope this helps

Cons: None works perfect just make sure you use a SINGLE LINK DVI cable for most graphics cards going past a certain amount of monitors.

Overall Review: If you got this cable and it don't work on your machine from the start chances are you have a dual link dvi cable and it's causing that try switching it to a single link dvi cable and see if it fixes your issue.

Pros: It works! The unit is definitely an active adapter as I have 3 monitors and my DP-DVI monitor is running fine. All of my monitors are 1920x1080 (Dell ST2210's) and previously I was using a Sapphire DP-VGA adapter for the third. It worked but the picture was off-color (some browns and tans would look greenish and occasional color flicker that the other monitors didn't have). This fixes that issue and provides a perfect digital image with perfect color. I did not notice any lag in the video but there is a short pause (as with the VGA adapter) before the monitor turns on. Unlike other DP-DVI adapters it does not require external power and is cheap compared to $100+ adapters.

Cons: None...I guess the cord is a bit stiff and doesn't flex as easily as the VGA adapter, but there aren't any real cons.

Overall Review: Just some notes regarding compatibility: This unit is for Single Link monitors only. Single link supports resolutions up to 1920x1200. For higher resolutions you must buy a Dual-Link adapter which are the USB-powered $100+ units. Also note that this adapter does not produce the analog signals required to use DVI to VGA adapters. These adapters rely on the DVI port switching into analog mode and outputting VGA signals on specific pins. This adapter does not have this functionality, if you need VGA get the DisplayPort to VGA adapter (I have the Sapphire one and it works great, but note that the picture quality of DVI is better than VGA). However, this adapter DOES work with DVI to HDMI adapters. Since HDMI is identical to single-link DVI a simple DVI to HDMI cable will work with this unit to connect an HDTV or monitor. However it is video only, there is no audio when using DVI signals for HDMI.

Cons: when i use this adapter the screen works intermittently. The images appear then disappear in a somewhat random manner but the computer is not usable.

Overall Review: i bought this to use with my amd eyefinity setup but it doesn't work

Overall Review: Shouldn't an item like this work for at least 5 years? Or at least until the video card becomes basically obsolete? 18 months is really inexcusable imo. E-mailed Sapphire support to ask about e replacement and was forwarded the 1 year warranty policy. So much cheap, disposable garbage these days. Very disappointing. It's not a $5 cable guys.

Pros: Worked well for the price I paid at the time. When purchased, this was the only active DP>DVI adapter that did NOT require a usb plug for power. Also it was the only sub-$100 DP>DVI active adapter.

Cons: The adapter died after roughly 9 months of use. It worked perfect for my eyefi. needs until I stopped using it. The adapter was sitting on my desk for about one month while I had a pair of gtx 260s in SLI in my computer. As soon as I put a pair of 5850s in my case, the adapter decided to die on me. I troubleshot everything, and it is NOT the DP slots on either 5850 as a passive DP adapter works just fine.

Overall Review: Because of the 90 Day warranty, I will need to buy a new adapter. I will be purchasing the PowerColor version for it's 2 year warranty -- I would advise the same for anyone else as the adapters seem identical. *The adapter that failed on me is the first revision (the one shown on the Sapphire box in the Newegg product pictures). I only hope if the adapter dies on anyone else, it is within the 90 Day warranty period. Purchased September 2010 -- Died July 2011
