Pros: replaced my Sapphire 4870 1GB and in Vista_x64 my 3D Mark Vantage score went from 8,264 to 13,772 (CPU: 11,782 / GPU: 14,594). Obviously my 4870 was a bottleneck on my 940be; feels good to open it up. Everything looks much more vibrant & fluid. Compared to any other card @ ~$300 this is the one to get - bottom line. I'm not a fan of either nVidia or ATi....I've used them all throughout my computing career. However during this current crop of GPU offerings ATi really seems to be doing it right. The 5850 is by far going to give you the most performance for the money. I was thinking of a GTX465...and the reviews were indeed correct in steering me to this.

Cons: It is 11" from PCI plate to the end of the attached PCI-Ex plugs. This required me to dust off my Angle Grinder and go to town on my Veris Fusion, (yeah I know...but it's my HTPC/Gamer ;-) Length wouldn't be an issue in any not *cramped* case. Not a true CON, but due to the case it's in it runs a bit warm: 54C idle (ambient: 21C). Apparently this model doesn't support Voltage control like the reference models do. This doesn't bother me in the least, but might to some.

Pros: Pros: works perfectly fine as advertised. It replaced an Nvidia 8600GT, uninstall of GT went smooth on Vista64 + easy install of downloaded recent drivers. Size - it was a snug fit in my Antec 900 case, but it fit fine without having to remove one of my hard drive cages. Only had it two days now, plays BF Bad Company 2 on high quality setting with no issues... video resolution = 1900X1200. :)

Cons: Cons: I'll be sure to update this when and if I get a con - so far - no cons to report.

Overall Review: Other thoughts: Hmmmmm... Let's see. I think New Egg benefits quite a bit from us who take the time to write a review - maybe it's time they show us some love $$$$$$$$$

Pros: Low idle power (dropped 25 Watts compared to 8800GT). Way faster than my 8800 GT. Forced me to do better cable management in my case.

Cons: This Sapphire card (over 10.5") is longer than reference (9.5"). But I was lucky to get it to fit in my case (was within millimeters of having to leave a hard drive out). This thing will probably become ridiculously cheap now that I've bought one. Catalyst Control Center 1) Why does ATI default the overscan/underscan for HDTV's to be the wrong setting? 2) CCC won't overclock past 775 core, I know this card has way more than that in it.

Overall Review: BFBC2 at almost max settings 1080p runs no lower than 40fps, average around 55fps. I'm a little disappointed that I'm not constantly VSYNC stuck to 60 fps but whatever. Might be my CPU... Overall Review: I have been a long time nvidia user, and was apprehensive to switch to ATi, as I had tried some of their cards before and still preferred nvidia. Well, this is the first ATi card where I am completely satisfied and feel like I didn't sacrifice anything. It runs all of my games very fast (even Crysis), and the best part is it does it quietly. I did try a GTX 470 before this, but it was just too hot and loud for my tastes. Overclocking this card really makes it come alive and it seems like OC'ing this card made more of a difference than OC'ing prior nvidia cards. I am very satisfied with this card and would recommend it to anyone looking for a true performance video card. Dedicated NV users have no fear, this card is the real deal.

Pros: This card runs like a tiger. I will give that but my tiger has a broken leg.

Cons: Every time I run a game, any game at all to video driver crashes with in about 10 min. of play. At first I thouth I would just download a new driver and be done with it but after going throwgh 4 sets of drivers I know that is not the problem. A friend of mine who also has this card popped mine into his system and had the same problem so I know the card is bad but Apphire will not give me any customer service. I have opened help tickets at the web site and tried to call with no luck. If for no othere reason I will never buy Sapphire again.

Pros: Great graphics card, its a absolutely worth the money. I can play all my games on the highest setting with a hint of lag. Overall a superb Graphics card.

Cons: It doesent cook me breakfast.

Overall Review: Kicks the crapmombo out of Nvidia and there $400 Gcs.
