The enhancements for AMD Radeon HD7000 series include: Stereo 3D-multi-display stereoscopic 3D support via DisplayPort 16K X 16K maximum display group resolution-output up to 268 megapixels per GPU.
AMD App AccelerationAMD App Acceleration is a set of technologies designed to improve video quality and enhance application performance. Full enablement of some features requires support for OpenCL, DirectCompute or DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA).
AMD Stream TechnologyAccelerate the most demanding applications with AMD Stream technology and do more with your PC. AMD Stream Technology allows you to use the teraflops of compute power locked up in your graphics processer on tasks other than traditional graphics such as video encoding, at which the graphics processor is many, many times faster than using the CPU alone.
Pros: While I bought this card from another retailer, I think it should be known what this card is actually running under the hood, especially since people are probably looking for this exact card on Newegg, but aren't finding anything because of poor labeling choices. This is built off of the "new" Tahiti LE architecture, as opposed to the Pitcairn cards that all other 7870's are, meaning it's essentially a stripped-down 7950 that almost matches the performance. This is a pretty important designation, but the Powercolor version of the Tahiti LE is the only one on Newegg that actually has it in the title
Cons: This is hidden within the other Ghz Edition cards, with zero indicators on what sets it apart, and makes it look like an unassuming revision of the 7870 with a higher price tag. The Tahiti LE cards really need their own category in the guided menu to help people find them better. The fact they were all given a quiet launch doesn't help them stand out much either
Overall Review: As for the actual card, you'd be crazy to buy a normal Ghz Edition card while this is out, especially since it's a $30 difference at most. The performance gap between the LE 7870 and 7950 is pretty surprising, and that gap gets smaller if you OC. Keeps relatively cool at stock on load, and have yet to have any major performance problems at 1920x1200
