Pros: This is a very nice GPU! My Rig was using a Sapphire HD6970 but I was wanting to upgrade to a GPU that took advantage of AMD Mantle without breaking the bank. This card hit that sweet spot. The 4GB of RAM is an awesome buffer. this edition of the 270x was only $20.00 more than the 2GB edition. It seemed like a no brainer, 20bux for an extra 2GB of video ram, .... sweet!!! Also, my card runs really cool. I get an idle 30*c and about 65*c while gaming using stock profiles.
Cons: The only con is that, there is no ability to expand beyond 2-way crossfire. It only has one crossfire finger on the card only allowing for one crossfire bridge inter-connect. But I knew this going into the purchase and really is a non-issue.
Overall Review: In other thoughts, I've used Sapphire for a very long time.... They have never let me down... Never received a card with "coil whine" and never a DOA. It may just be the luck of the draw, but I'm talking like I've had over 25 different Sapphire GPU's and not a single one has arrived bad or died on me. I really like Sapphire and would recommend their GPU's to anyone. As far as trying to "overclock" this card, it hasn't even crossed my mind. Even though the cooler keeps this card cool, I don't want to push the limits for a couple extra FPS. It's just not worth it IMO, but hey, if you're into that, more power to ya! Speaking of FPS, i'm getting some really nice numbers. I game at 1920x1080 and on all of my games I'm able to hit that magical 60FPS and lock vsync. However, if you like all the eye candy and attempt 3D at 120 FPS, you will need 2 of these if crossfire and crossfire doesn't always scale well for all games. It may be hard to get 120 FPS even in Crossfire so I wouldn't recommend this card for 3D gaming. Gaming at 1920x1080? This is the card for you as the card like 290's and even the 280 are geared towards higher resolutions. As always, NewEgg shipped fast and secure!
