Pros: - 16 Pixel Pipelines out of the box - GREAT Price - Excellent Performance - Decent cooling - Runs Oblivion on *ALMOST* max settings without lag. (had to turn AA down to 2, 4 made areas with water lag like crazy) - Packaged with two great games - Comes with some nice extra cables.
Cons: - No HDR because it only supports shaders v2. (need v3 for HDR if I'm not mistaken) - Fan is a tad too loud, although it's not as loud as the other reviews make it seem. It's very tolerable. - Sometimes "hiccups" during games, causing a signifigant drop in framerates for short period of time (2-3 seconds)
Overall Review: This card was a MAJOR upgrade for me. I was upgrading from a NV 6200 no frills card. The graphics that this card produces is phenominal, although sometimes it hiccups like I mentioned in my cons. That may be just me, I'm not sure. But it's not a big deal. I haven't had any problems with the card overheating or anything. I configured ATI Tool to adjust fan speeds depending on speeds and it seems to work fine, although I plan to upgrade the fan to an Arctic ATI Silencer 5 rev. 2, just to make sure it never burns out on me. Sound was also not really much of a problem for me. I would definitely recommend this card. It's a LOT of bang for the buck. Probably the best card you'll ever find for the price. One thing I didn't realize when purchasing this is that PCI-Express cards need a special 6-pin power cord coming from the PSU. As this was my first PCIe card, so that was all new to me. Be sure you have an adequate PSU installed before purchasing. EXCELLENT CARD!!
