Pros: Very efficient cooling. The fan stays below 1000rpm while keeping a 2.4GHz Quad overclocked at 3.0GHz. This is SILENT no matter how you look at it. Mounting was easy. The base has a very good finish. Temps at 3.0GHz stayed at 42C with days of quad core prime stress testing. Idle is 32C or lower.

Overall Review: On a gigabyte p35 DS3L I had to trim two fins on the north bridge heat-sink. This was a simple task using a pair of snips. Otherwise the heatpipes would put pressure on the northbridge and more then likely disrupting contact with the chipset.

Pros: Keeps 6000+ at ~30*c idle, ~41*c load. Easiest heatsink I've ever had the pleasure of installing. Very little pressure required, doesn't feel like it wants to push right through the backside of the motherboard.

Cons: Nothing yet.

Overall Review: GIGABYTE GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo, X1900XTX, Crucial Ballistix 2x1gb PC5300, Scythe Samurai heatsink, 74gb Raptor hdd, 250gb WD storage hdd, 2 optical drives, PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 psu. XP Pro 32bit.

Pros: used this on a athlon 64 x2 6400+ when i bought it, ran my processor at about 58-62 degrees. Since then I upgraded to the phenom ii x4 940, still keeps my processor within the 62 degree range.

Cons: this thing is BIG, wasn't much of a problem for me, but can be for others.

Overall Review: Give this thing some air to breathe, I actually made a big hole in the side of my case (filtered by an old window screen) to allow it to get proper airflow. if i didn't, then my temps would be at 72-73 degrees.

Pros: Works as a quiet cooler. Cpu fan is about 1300 rpm in my system. Lowered temp on x4 9600 by 15 degrees at idle. No overclock. Very easy to install on AM2 socket, but I have a large case. Cools the chip set by 36 degrees idle over the stock cooler! Can now unplug side fan with no cooling degradation. The most quiet fan is the one unplugged.

Cons: It is large, make sure your case is large enough. Had to close the last cpu hold down clip with needle nose pliers, the design for the clips could have been better but it works. Would have prefered a 4 pin fan so the system could adjust the fan speed.

Overall Review: Fits my needs for a quiet solution, much better than the stock cooler which has a high pitch whine at full speed. Significant cooling performance over stock cooler. May go to a silenx fan for a more silent solution. My hdd is now irritating me with the noise, which I couldn't hear before.

Pros: This is a HUGE Cooler. Dropped my Stock Cooler temps by only about 5deg C at idle, but lowered my peak load temps by at least 15deg C. Very Quiet,

Cons: As others have said... it is huge! install can be very frustrating, best done with mainboard removed from case.

Overall Review: I am very impressed with this heat sink. I am building a new PC for a home server and after further research I find that while not the most efficient or silent, it is certainly VERY efficient and very quiet, and still top on my list for my new system.

Pros: Effective top-down cooler if installed correctly and with right fan.

Cons: Size - but that is true of any of this type of heatsink. If the board layout is tight, can be difficult to install. The mounting pins are spring-loaded and can literally spring away, coming apart - I thought I had lost a piece and was hosed. I found it (they're small), then struggled re-attaching to the frame.

Overall Review: I used this to replace the Thermalright its design is based on, as the Tr's support arms intruded into 1 of my ram slots, which I now need. It is not quite as heavy or solid as the Tr, but it is actually easier to install (pins notwithstanding). Top-downs are great if the case is side-vented; I have a case fan pushing air into the Scythe fan mounted on this heatsink. Overclocking a 5400BE, idle is at room ambient (~27, it's hot here).

Pros: It does cool my processor more than the stock... easy to put on a better fan on top

Cons: I was truly expecting better from this thing. I bought it because it was a top mounting cooler (kinda like that idea especially since my case has the CPU cooler port) this thing is so tall i had to remove the tube for the cooler port because it is so tall (which i expected really not that big of a deal) it did lower my temps overall i used arctic silver thermal paste (amazing stuff) it has no visible copper, i was VERY disappointed by that, though it at least had a copper sync on bottom, but it doesn't, the bottom also gets scuffed easily on mine. The LGA 775 mounting brackets SUCK! they are so flimsy i literally took it off because i was not convinced it was on there completely, and sure enough it was! the top heavy design makes it difficult to lock the brackets in place. The fins are poorly mounted overall just not impressed. i am getting a different one some day.

Overall Review: My temps did go down, but what bothers me is the amount of fluctuation in temps that is going on, i expected better... i idle around 30C (according to SpeedFan 4.34) but as soon as i open Call of Duty 4 it immediately jumps to 40C and then slowly climbs to 45C and this is all after i even put a new 120mm fan on it that can move up to 110 CFM. Now these temps are more than acceptable but i was hoping to overclock my processor once getting this cooler and sadly i don't think i will. These results are on an Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66 GHz

Cons: if anything it made things hotter... i bought this and some arctic silver to put on my AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ CPU which i have overclocked from 3.0GHz to 3.3GHz stable and hoped because the size and all the pipes and fins this thing has would keep it cool. i was wrong,the CPU temp was idling around 50ºC and once while doing an install in linux the CPU load was at 100% and it's temp hit 75ºC!!! and i had to stop the install to prevent my system from cooking. after that incident i removed this fan and put on the stock one, i ran the same install and again it put my CPU at 100% load, only this time it's temp never went above 53ºC and now it idles around 30ºC.

Overall Review: i may have just got a defective fan but either way it the stock fan keeps it 20ºC cooler under full load.
