For the best system performance you need to keep more than just your processor and graphics card cool. The Scythe SY124010L "Mini Kaze" 40mm fan is designed to maintain your motherboard's South and North Bridge chipsets at proper operating temperatures, keeping your system cool and stable.
The "Mini Kaze" can also be used to replace an external hard drive enclosure or for a removable hard drive cage. An included 2-pin-to-3-pin adaptor allows this fan to draw power from different sources.
The fan spins at a relatively low 3500rpm, for efficient cooling and a low, 14dBA noise level.
Dual Power ConnectorsThe Scythe SY124010L comes with a 3-pin and a 4-pin power connector for excellent flexibility and compatibility.
Extra QuietThe highly-efficient and silent Scythe SY124010L works at whisper-quiet 14dBA at 3,500 RPM for excellent system cooling.

Pros: So quiet, it was like it was not even there. I could not hear it with the other fans running. Moves an adequate amount of air for Northbridge/Southbridge use. Comes with hard to find 2-oin female connector required by some motherboards. Also comes with a 2-pin to 3-pin adaptor.
Cons: My Northbridge has heatsink with fan mounted using 4 screws torqued down between the heatsink fins. The corner holes in this new fan were a very tight fit for the mounting screws. Installation would have been easier if I had used a drill to make them slightly bigger.
Overall Review: My MB has 2-pin connection for Northbridge fan. I bought this fan for that reason. I wanted a ball bearing fan but none come with the 2-pin connector. It would be nice to find a quality ball bearing 40mm fan with connectors/adaptors for MBs requiring either 2-pin or 3-pin.
