Overall Review: Reduced the idle of my home server from 45 watts to 39 watts and full load from 87 to 73 watts. Cables were a little on the long side for my small ITX enclosure and have heavy duty cables which made them a little hard to maneuver but the quality compensates for that.

Pros: Nice looking, very functional. And I placed it n EggXpert Tiered PSU list in Tier 2 for a reason it's a great PSU. The Tiered PSU list does not add on for aesthetics or Functionality. This unit has both. We only grade quality on that list. Comes with cable ties, small amount of additional sleaving, AND A SUPER COOL STICKER FOR THE FRONT OF YOUR CASE!!!

Cons: Cables may be a bit short for a full tower case.

Overall Review: This isn't a Pro or a Con as you will have this with most PSU's, but the smell when it was new was fairly strong, but it does go away fairly quickly, but boy was it strong

Pros: Fantastic quality PSU - professional reviews give it very high marks for its electrical performance (e.g. voltage regulation/ripple suppression) Build quality is very good. As good as fully modular - only the CPU power cable and 24 pin ATX cable are hard-wired, and everyone needs those. 5 year warranty Unbeatable price! Cables are a good length for all but the largest cases. 550W is enough power for almost all single CPU + single GPU systems.

Cons: At its price point, none.

Overall Review: Absolutely amazing power supply if you're on a budget and don't plan to use multiple graphics cards. Highly recommended.

Pros: It worked for 8 months

Cons: System started randomly restarting and then after a few days would not start at all. Wasted $60. Only lasted 8 months in a mini-ITX cube.

Overall Review: Asrock Mini ITX 4670k CPU eVGA 750Ti 16gb (2x8gb) PC3-2133 G.Skill Samsung 840EVO (RAID 1 mirrored) It seems that there just are not any decent power supplies under $100 anymore. I replaced this one with another brand with a 10year warranty and double the price. Goodbye Seasonic.....

Overall Review: For a high-quality PSU, I got a good deal on this item. The cables look fantastic, everything is black. It comes not only with cable ties but with velcro, so kudos to SeaSonic for thinking of just about everything. My only gripe (and it's unbearably minor, which is why I didn't list it as a con) is the way the labels are arranged on it. When the fan is facing down, as most cases will have the power supply, the less aestheically-pleasing sticker with the technical information is showing, rather than the sleeker sticker with the SeaSonic G logo on it. I took that sticker off with a credit card and rubbing alcohol and it looks much better (to me).

Pros: Honestly, the reviews almost scared me away from this PSU. Only time will tell now. A big thank you to the folks in EggXpert that put together the PSU Tier List. After reading that I pulled the trigger on this purchase and even got it on sale. 1) It powered on and has been running nonstop for about 36 hours now. Of course it was powered on and off a few times before I closed the case up. There are traditions and I caught a fan I put in backwards. 2) I had no problem with the cables or connectors. The cables bent where and how I wanted them to. The connectors went on like they were supposed to. Even had to unhook a few and reroute the cables. No problem with either. 3) Yes, if all the cables were sleeved it would have been pretty, but that are black so... 4) I can see where cable length might be an issue in a full tower case like CM's Cosmos. 5) Yes the included screws were silver not black and... they are in the back of my system. They fit and seem to have been made with a decent quality steel. 6) The fan is not a hybrid and is not billed as one. 7) The fan is not loud compared to my case fans. 8) Had to give it some eggs and having no gripes with the cabling, installation or powering up it is a five for now. I'll post again in a year or three after it has had a chance to prove or disprove the important reason I bought it - to power my system. 9) See other thoughts.

Cons: None yet. Only time will tell if it does the most important thing, efficiently power my system(s) for years to come.

Overall Review: Not a con and not sure what caused it. After it had been running in the case for a few hours there was the smell of hot wiring. The system temps were good. The cables were not even warm to the touch. It might have been the new case fan. Just don't know. Bottom line it is still working well. I found EggXpert under forums at the bottom of the NewEgg main page. Go there and check it out before buying this or any other PSU; quantifiable data, test results, no brand biases and some serious discussion all summed up in an extensive easy to use series of lists.

Pros: Very nice power supply. It does the job and it has a very clean look.

Cons: The 24-pin and 8-pin cpu are NOT modular. The cables provided and even the 24/8 pins are extremely short. For perspective, the 24-pin would not fit in my antec p280 (MSI Z77A-G43 ATX motherboard) if I were to wire it through the cable management holes. The 8 pin wouldn't fit at all! However, I knew the cables were short when I bought this. Didn't think they were this short.

Pros: This is replacing a 5-7 year old Antec 380w power supply from the original Antec Sonata case (before PSUs were rated "80 plus"; etc). It used around 83w when basically idle and 100w-110w when in use (not including the monitor of course). The Seasonic PSU is drawing only 60w at idle (probably 10w is heat since it's under 80% efficient at such low draws according to reviews). It hit 85w when doing a "quick scan" using Microsoft's free security software. I can't recall what I did to load the old PSU - might have been during boot up. 99% of the time I'm just reading stuff online so the idle power is key, as it is for 99% of us. One other thing - the old PSU drew 5w even after selecting "shut down" in Windows. I did not select "sleep". I can't recall what it drew in sleep mode for sure but I want to say it was between 5-10 and settled to 5w after 5-10 seconds. Anyhow, it seems the standby power draws 5w. Power usage went to zero as expected when I flipped the PSU's switch (on the back of the computer) to "0". The PSU's fan is quieter than the Antec but it blows less air. Might be iffy if this will be the only fan exhausting air out of the case.

Cons: 1. There is no PSU fan monitoring cable. Not a huge deal since I can't control it, but the old Antec PSU had one. I did not see this complaint in reviews. Last time I bought a PSU a few years ago, this was a feature people looked for. 2. Antec had 1 or 2 lower voltage "fan only" Molex connectors (for powering case fans) which were fantastic. They were controlled by the PSU - as the PSU sped up its fan, it also sped up the case fans. Even my Panaflow fan roars at 12V, so it seems I'll have to go back to using a fan controller or the 5V or 7V Molex modification/trick. Yea, I knew it didn’t have this feature, and I’m not 100% sure if anyone does. Antec probably does. Perhaps they have a patent is why it’s not standard across the industry? One big problem is if a knucklehead tries to power something else with these special low voltage connectors, which could explain their absence. 3. As someone pointed out somewhere or another, there are 4 SATA connectors (2 connectors on each of 2 cables = 4). But it seems that all PSUs since the start of time put the two connectors (including Molex) too closely together. My DVD drive uses SATA and is 3/4ths of the way to the top (in the bottom 5.25” slot) of my fairly small tower (Antec Sonata) case. I can’t get the SATA connectors to reach the DVD drive as well as the top hard drive. They should have made one cable with this very common situation in mid or included an extension cable. Luckily I had a Molex to SATA convertor cable as I need all 4 SATAs until I transfer files to a new HD. One SATA cable is longer (I think the distance to the first connector is longer, but the distance between the two connectors is the same on both cables). The cables are “buried” now so I can’t double check but you can find that info online. I saw the lengths in a review along with this same (minor but ridiculous) complaint.

Overall Review: My Antec was a bit heavier, but the cases are the same size - perhaps exactly the same. Antec was much less efficient (as were all PSUs back then) so it needed big heat sincs (can see them through the cooling holes). I have no idea how heavy/beafy this is compared to other modern PSUs, but since reviewers are impressed, it seems OK. Old PSU won't start reliably - I assume it's related to standby power. The computer case has a date of Feb 2004 stamped on it, so the old PSU is around the same age. Got 8-9 years out of it at ~4 hours per day. Been building PCs since 1989 - before the web (browsers) existed!
