Yes. I called HP Support this morning and spoke to a Sales Professional who looked up the "cb1080nr" for me to confirm G-Sync is supported. It was stated that if the laptop has the right card (video), the 2070 in this case, then G-Sync is supported. I was also confused with this as some sites list G-Sync as supported for this HP Omen 17 model and others list nothing at all as far as G-Sync for this same model. One answer I got prior to calling HP was that resellers are given SKU#s to sell and some of those are G-Sync supported and some are not. Well, when I mentioned that to HP along with other information on the web indicating G-Sync only works with certain BIOS and or licensing even with the same hardware, the answer was still . . . "If the right card is in the system, G-Sync is supported."

is this rtx 2070 super?

No, though newer systems have/had it available. We haven't had any issues with the (perhaps) 15% lower performance vs the newest-of-new at the time "GeForce RTX 2070 Super with Max-Q Design", which was just making it's way into high-end gamer-laptops early in July 2020.
