Great fan, silent!

Comments: I just wish everyone would educate themselves before leaving inaccurate reviews. These fans are great, some of the best I've ever used and I build at least 2 computers a year just for myself so I've used lots of different fans.

It is NOT suppose to spin right when you turn your computer on. It's a variable fan and spins when it needs to.

Super quiet, good airflow. Long lasting--not so much

Comments: My review is for the non-thermistor version.

What? It's running?

Comments: Those who said that the fan needs "help" to start running are missing the point. These fans have a thermostat sensor that will sping the fan up when needed. If the fan isn't spinning immediately, well, that just means that the temperature isn't at a level where it needs to be running. Smart feature.

Quiet Please!

Pros: These fans make the least amount of noise out of all that I have tried. I also like the fact that they have the ability to speed up or slow down as needed on thier own.

Cons: While I continue to use these fans because of their noise factors, I know that I will need to replace them in a year or two. I have been using SilenX's fans for about 4 years now so I know that they will go bad within less than two years.

Overall Review: If they could somehow increase the reliability of this product I am sure that everyone in the world would use them.

You have to crank it up!

Pros: Quiet....

Cons: It doesn't always spin up. Sometimes you have to crank it with your finger before it'll start up. This isn't a car from early 1900's!!!

Overall Review: The specs looks very nice, but none of it matters if it doesn't work!

Quiet

Pros: Very very quiet with good air flow. I bought two fo these to replace my system fans. The variable speed is controlled by a temperature sensor and with the temperature sensor hanging next to the fan it's speed varied, according to the MOBO, from 1700 to 2200 rpms (specs state that rpms range from 1000 to 1700).

Cons: I did notice that it takes longer to cool the system off after playing games. It seems like the fans are decreasing in rpm prematurely.

Overall Review: Maybe if I hang the temp sensor next to the MOBO's heat sink it will improve system cool down time.

quiet

Pros: very very quiet, you can only hear a slight clicking if you put it next to your ear. otherwise silent.

Cons: not really as much airflow as i was hoping for.

Overall Review: in hind sight i would have went with the regular model w/o the temp sensor. it was an impulse decision at a b&m store. i have 2 of these in an htpc. they are very silent but wish my system was a little cooler. probably wouldn't hear them at full power so no reason to get variable model
