Pros: -log battery life -good low light camera app -128GB sdcard
Cons: -numerous security patches from last year are not applied. -bunch of bloatware apps that should be removable and are not.
Overall Review: Asus Please just ship cyanogenmod with a few apps thrown in, because I'm just exporting your camera and radio app and using them on cyanogenmod, so all the hard work Asus did customizing old versions of android is going to waste.
Pros: -Price -removeable battery -micro sd card slot -dual sim -3gb RAM -glove mode is very handy in Canadian winter.
Cons: -tons of asus bloatware -display not quite as nice as other high end phones (but still great for the price point) -weak speaker -no NFC
Overall Review: This is probably the best phone you can buy at this price point, If it proves to be durable, then I really have no complaints. The glove mode works very well, even resulting in a couple of pocket dials when I forgot to turn it off. Aside from the rampant Asus bloatware, the cons are mainly nitpicks - for example, I wouldn't expect it to have a display as nice as an iPhone's given the price. Getting back to the bloatware though, it's even worse than my old Samsung, so it might be worth rooting once my warranty is up. For now I've disabled them as I don't need the space yet.
Pros: Large crisp screen Love the double tap to wake phone Good WIFI reception Strong signal when used as an hotspot
Cons: Quit charging after 2 months also quit being recognized by the computer going with the RMA replacement because I like the phone but I have concerns.
Overall Review: I have a suspicious mind when a company offers cross shipping RMA/replacement for only 1 device on their support site. It is admirable that they are looking to make the replacing of a failed device easy. Will the replacement suffer from the same issues? That makes getting a replacement vs return for refund a 50/50 gamble.
Pros: 3 days usage. Great value. Really wanted the dual SIM, both supporting LTE as it allowed me to consolidate my personal and business SIM cards into one device. Love the power management options as it really extends the battery (e.g. I can disable the networks when device is sleeping or during a specific time period, 11pm-6am). This off sets the slow charging. By setting different ring tones, I can identify the call with the SIM card. Responsiveness of apps and screen touch is great.
Cons: Lots of reviews on the bloatware. I de-activate those so that they don't consume power. If I can't de-install them, I can always move them into a folder so that it doesn't take up space on the screen.
Overall Review: I seriously don't think there's any better value, especially for dual SIM phones. In addition, when one uses the bumper case, one doesn't see the plastic back covers (so, that perception and touch issue goes away).
Pros: Overall this is a very solid phone and a great value for the money. My main driver for buying this was the dual SIM capability, I normally carry two phones, one for work and my personal phone. My work and personal phones were an LG G4 and Galaxy Note Edge, so I am coming from the perspective of a high-end phone user. Let me start by saying that the dual SIM capability is great, having access to both phone numbers as well as both data plans on a single device is a game changer.
Cons: None that I've encountered yet.
Pros: Dual SIM active works great, tested it while traveling overseas by having my local (US) on SIM2 as well as destination country on SIM1. Didn't miss a call or txt from either line which is great, and also surfed internet at local rates using SIM1 rather than roam on SIM2. Worked as advertised. Camera quality was great, pictures came out better than iPhone6S shots of the same scene.
Cons: Problem started when I dropped it just about 2ft...and the screen shattered. Oh well, my fault for dropping it. But I thought gorilla screen should be able to handle a 2ft drop. Anyways, again, my fault. Went online looking for replacement screen, no luck. Tried contacting ASUS online via their website, website is completely broken for weeks, unable to submit a technical support request. I attempted to contact them via their Twitter handle (@ASUSUSA)...where they spew out marketing stuff daily, again, no response. I feel abandoned!
Overall Review: I dont recommend buying a product that replacement parts arent available, and attempts to contact manufacturer are futile. I guess my only option at this point is to purchase another phone?
Pros: The first thing to say is that this is one of the cheapest unlocked phones I've seen. But while it's cheap it does the job almost as well as my wife's Samsung Galaxy 5 for which she paid three time as much. The display is very clear and the design very elegant. The double tap to put to sleep and wake up is a great feature, as are the touch sensitive buttons at the bottom for return, home and window selection - I prefer them to my wife's Samsung Galaxy 5.
Cons: There only two minor irritants. The speakers sound a little tinny and the camera isn't as good in low light as the Galaxy 5.
Overall Review: I have a very cheap pay as you go service provider that costs me only $10 a month - most of the time I'm at home and or the office where I use the WiFi, so a $40/month contract made no sense. However, neither of it's minor deficiencies are of great concern, and aren't worth paying three times the price for an equivalent unlocked phone.
Pros: -Great specs -Unlocked -Looks good -Screen looks good, and is fairly smooth and crisp -The gestures like the double tap to wake are very useful -Large size is perfect (at least for me) -Decent battery life but you should close apps that could drain it fast -Wonderful camera, takes good quality pictures and has tons of features -Comes with FM Radio which is a nice feature -Has a Laser ruler, although only measures very close -tough; ive dropped it multiple times and it was fine (note i do have a case on it) -price -flashlight -32gb is more than plenty and holds everything i need and much much more
Cons: -Range of brightness isnt good, the lowest brightness really isnt as dark as it should be -No grip to hold at all. You almost need a case theres no grip on it, especially for the size. -Speaker isnt very good
Overall Review: I bought this phone when it was $250 on sale for $200 and for whatever reason the price got jacked up
