Question 1

Sonicwall used to license products based on connections-5-10-25 unlimited. I cant find that info with this model- did the licensing change?

In the last two years ive installed about twenty of these.  Every install the sw only allow five connections out of the box.  After you register the device with ur mysonicwall online account and reboot the device, the five limited users changed to unlimited.  No extra cost for device  licensing.  So their licensing has change.

The interface is different than the older sw.  When mapping ports first create the services then run the wizard.

I have an ACER 4 gb computer that is five years old.  Should I get this?

Sorry, we're using it for Internet access to a hosted HP Win2008 R2 server.  My experience with this device doesn't really apply to workstations.  They're generally pretty reliable, however, and relatively easy to configure and maintain.

No. You have to buy the subscription.

Does this unit come with Basic support ?

I don't believe it does.  Support for these device can be purchased from SonicWALL.  It has always been this way since I've been installing these.  You can decide either 24/7 support or 8x5pm M-F support from SonicWall.

There are videos and expect to play with this for hours if you don't know what your are doing.

Trick to get access to Camera System, Email, or Terminal Server: 
Ports = Services
Create services then create a group for the services, 
then run the outside access to a server wizard option (icon located top left)
This is the easiest way to get your important stuff outside of the firewall and has worked for me on many installs.
VPN Strong and professional - site to site and SSL VPN
Spam Filtering works
Content filtering is confusing and hard to allow specific website not in specified group
