how to get them into the case, the front panel? (i know where they go on the motherboard )

You need to remove both sides of the case and then the front bezel. On the cases I have had there are little tabs down the front bezel you push to remove it from the frame.  Once that is out of the way you will have access to the switches you want to replace. They can be a bit tricky to insert, so use care not to break off a tab on the new switch. If you break one you can wrap tape around the switch until it fits snug into the opening. I hope this helps.

It has been a while, but it was long enough to reach my power button position on the case.  You could always splice two wires into whatever length you need, if it's not long enough....

These switches are wired to the cables.   If your old case switches are about 8mm square, these might fit.   I'm using these on my test computer that is in the open, so the switches are in free air.

If it were me, I would probably get them, as they are inexpensive, and there's a pretty good chance they might work for you.
