Pros: Pretty small card that packs a punch
Seems to run cool to touch
Low profile bracket included as well as full
Drivers (on Tehuti Networks site) for Linux & Windows (while neither latest Windows or Linux installs load driver by default, once driver installed everything just worked)
iperf shows full 10Gbps throughput once you tweak the TCP window size a bit
Cheapest 10Gbps rj45 card on market
Cons: No drivers for OSX or any BSD like FreeBSD. Tehuti Networks doesn't plan on building one one anytime soon either (hopefully opensource community steps up).
Overall Review: I successfully achieved 10Gbps throughput over ~50 feet of normal cat 6 cabling (where I even was responsible for terminating each end). Super impressed my current cabling runs can support 10Gbps ethernet. I was a bit skeptical of the company behind the chip on this card (Tehuti Networks), but wanted to give it a shot. Couldn't be happier. I'll just need to stick to Intel cards for my BSD boxes.
Pros: Card works great at gige speed.
Cons: bad planning on my part.
Overall Review: I should have made sure I could find 10gbaseT sfp+ modules for my Nexus switch first, but only assumed what I ordered was in fact the correct ones. Should have purchased the NIC card with SFP ports and not a permanently fixed rj45 port. Once my hardware arrived (not all at once) and can no longer return cards for a different type due to the time frame envolved.
