Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler, free TX-2 Thermal Paste Included Inside

Pros: This cooler is very impressive for the amount it costs compared to the performance and features it provides. My system I mounted this in is a Phenom x3 720 on the Asus M4A79XTD Evo 790X board. I purchased this cooler over the TRUE or Xiggy for a couple reasons. First, I needed a cooler that easily mounted to my amd board that directed air out the rear of the case instead of sending it up into the psu or down in to my video card. Second, I needed the cooler to clear my side case fan, which this cooler did. My case is the Thermaltake Tsunami, and the other coolers I mentioned earlier would have forced me to remove the side case fan to fit them in. The installation takes a little bit of thought but there is nothing that warrants a drop in rating. First, don't try to install this cooler on your board if it is in your case. Cons: When the motherboard is out of the case it is much easir to align and set the cooler correctly. As others have said, one of the clips is slightly longer than the other, make sure you hook the shorter side first. When hooking the second clip, it takes a little pressure but I got it the first try. Just use your fingers to press down on the corners of the clip, not in the middle. The clip will bend a little when mounting but that is needed to get a secure mount. The cooler needs more paste than normal too. There are small grooves between the cooler base and copper pipes which will suck up your thermal paste. Like others have said, use to lines on the proc that run perpendicular to the heat sink pipes, this gave me a perfect coverage. The cooler also cleared the massive heat sinks that the Asus EVO boards have around the proc. So if anyone is wondering about that, no worries there.

Overall Review: This cooler dropped my idle temps from the high 20s down to 18-20. My load temps went from 55 down to 35 on my stock 720. With this cooler I got my 720 up to 3.6 stable on stock voltage with a load temp of 54. I could go higher but instead I then went and unlocked my 4th core and got t up to 3.4 on 1.35 voltage. Not too bad. The included thermal paste is awesome and very comparable to Arctic Silver 5. The fan control is great since there isn't much difference between temps when running on high speed or low so I set it right in the middle so it is no longer than any of my other fans. Overall I have no issues with this cooler and would recommend it to anyone with an AMD system. This cooler is also slightly shorter than other 120mm coolers which is nice if you are concerned about space constraints. The cooling performance it provides places it near the top on Frostytech's list for both cooling and noise, and the price can't be beat.

Pros: Keeps my 7750 thats OC'd to 3GHz at 28-29c idle and hasn't gone above 40c even after playing Far Cry 2 for 2hrs and running 3DMark 06 twice.

Cons: Fan gets a little loud when running at full RPM, but that's easily fixed by throttling down the the knob a lil. Mounting bracket is a little tricky to get on.

Overall Review: Fits on my Asus M3A78 PRO with the fan facing the back of my Antec 300. It's a snug fit, but it's not touching anything it's not supposed too :)

Pros: Its not that difficult to install, as some are making it out to be. Comes with top notch thermal paste. I think its a varient of MX-2, which is better then Artic Silver 5.

Cons: Comes with a fan, comes with great Thermal Paste, and is the best and cheapest cooler you will find.

Overall Review: Using it on a 9850 Black Edition, at 3Ghz. 44c idle.

Pros: Clips right onto am3 motherboard clips. No need to remove back plate.

Cons: Sunbeam does not offer customer service at all. They don't even have a number in the US For you to call. They only have an email address they don't answer. If you have tall ram chips you can't have the fan in a push configuration only pull.

Overall Review: I tried contacting them for my mail in rebate. No response. I will never buy another sunbeam/tuniq product again because they don't provide customer service or honor their mail in rebates.

Pros: reasonably good build quality and design

Cons: Sunbeamtech's rebate process is absolutely atrocious. I submitted rebates on 2 different Sunbbeamtech/Tuniq coolers in 5/09 (following the instruction to the dot, of course). Six months later, I have yet to see any penny, or even an email notification. Multiple emails to Sunbeamtech's rebate support site went unanswered(no phone number provided--that should've been the tipoff). If you care about getting the rebate at all, stay away from Sunbeamtech/Tuniq products.

Pros: Excellent cooling performance. q6600 at 3.2 Ghz 1.34v, max temp at 57c while running p95. Used to own a Coolermaster HyperTX2 and max temps used to be 68-71c at 3.0 Ghz running p95. Included fan is not that noisy even at high speed.Retention bracket feels secure.TIM included in the bundle (Tuniq tx2) is great. Fan speed controller included. Fan easy to mount with fan clips.Relatively light compared to other coolers its size (eg: TRUE 120, Z600 etc). Installation procedure is easy ( Do not have to remove motherboard, but if your power supply is top mounted or if u have big hands like i do, u might have to remove it for more space while installing).

Cons: The retention clip used for holding the heatsink to the bracket interferes with the Northbridge heatsink. I build computers for my friends and family and used this cooler quite a few times. At first i thought it was just mostly a problem with Gigabyte and Asus motherboards but turns out i was wrong. I had to bend some fins on my northbridge heatsink to allow for proper installation. U would think Sunbeamtech would do somethng about it since it is a common problem. Had to dock 1 egg for this problem.

Overall Review: If u are thinking about installing this onyour motherboard facing the rear fan, make sure your northbridge heatsink is not more than ~4.75 cm tall!! If it is u might have to bend some fins. If u are going to install it facing up, u would be fine. Also make sure your case width is >= 8". Performance is top notch if u can fit it onto the motherboard.

Overall Review: Lower temps = Longer CPU life and better overclocks.

Pros: Like most of the other reviewers, I have found this cooler to be very effective. My CPU averages 30'C during low processor requirements, and 35'C at high, like when playing COD. And I live in Puerto Rico where the temps in my house are around 30'C! (Of course turning on the A/C helps, but it costs money...) I installed this cooler on an ASUS P5N-D motherboard in a thermaltake Sopranop RS case and though it is HUGE it fits very well. In fact with the heatsink installed so that the fan blows the air towards the back of the case, the air goes through the fins, and then straight into the case exhaust fan which is only about 1.5 inches aft of the heatsink. My power supply is a Corsair 650W and there is 5/16" clearance between the bottom of the PSU and the top of the HS.

Cons: I found that with the fan installed as intended, because of the shape of the fins much of the air goes out the side of the HS instead of completely through it. I applied some 2' aluminum heat tape to the sides of the heatsink, forcing the air from the fan to go more completely through the entire heat sink. This gave me an additional 4' to 6' degrees of cooling at max CPU operations.

Overall Review: I've seen some reviewers noting the "open" heat pipes at the top of the HS, but they are not really open, just not rounded off. It looks like the copper collapsed slightly during the sealing process, as only one end of each pipe is collapsed. I don't think this has any effect on the effectiveness of the HS.
