Pros: Excellent cooler. This is a large cooler, but buying this you've come to expect this. Despite that this cooler fit very adequately in an Antec 902 mid tower case, with some caveats. I was not able to fit a side fan once this was in, however the cooling to the CPU is worth this sacrifice, as better cooling is getting to the part that needs them. This is a high quality product. Every screw, every bracket is thick, and solid. No bendy brackets or easily stripped screws will be found here. The mounting system is a tank, and is extremely easy to set up. There are videos on Youtube clearly explaining the process so don't be intimidated. The fan itself, is ridiculously quiet. So much so that I didn't know it was on and got scared when I first started it. I used a Fanmate fan controller on it, thinking I could crank it up~ not realizing it was already at maximum speed. Despite the 1300 RPM and silent, this cooler dropped temps by almost 20 degrees for me on load. It's spectacula

Cons: No extra fan clips are included with this product, while the original Ven-X comes with two pairs for a push-pull configuration. The fan holder is good though, so I do plan on purchasing another one. Very easy to put on. Beware of clearance issues on 1156/1155 boards. This will cause issues with your first memory slot due to its width. Even if low clearance RAM would fit with just a fan, keep in mind the fan holder is a thick shroud and may make it difficult. Worse comes to worse, fan clips can be purchased for the Venomous-X and the holder removed. Not a fan of the white shroud, Black would have been a better choice. Getting access to wrench the pressure vault screw is difficult with the fan on. Ram may have to be removed to get clearance to make adjustments if needed.

Overall Review: Pressure mounting system is awesome, however keep in mind there are reports of processors being crushed by too much pressure. Normally these are people who do 'washer mods' and other things to a system that already gives off an amazing amount of pressure. I gave it some solid turns and didn't push my luck, but it's definitely on there with more contact than any other heat sink I've ever used. It was between this and the Prolimatech Megahalem. Was a very hard choice to make. Both of these heatsinks are amazing, and in some ways the Megahalem is superior. However for the price on Newegg~ and including a SOLID and effective SILENT fan as part of the package out of the box...? I made the right choice.

Pros: Great cooler system is running at 4ghrz @ 27C

Cons: A little on the large size as it states in its specs, I had to adjust the fan to fit over my memory heat spreaders. I used this cooler with a Socket AM3 board which it states on both Thermalright's website and here at Newegg is compatible with AM3. However you need an adapter that is not included. Newegg does not carry the adapter and you can not order directly from the manufacture. However I wrote the manufacture and told them my problem and they promptly shipped me an adapter free of charge.

Overall Review: Installed on a Asus MA89TD PRO/USB3 AM3 Motherboard, with a Phenom II 1100T processor and G Skill Ripjaw DDR3 1600 Memory

Pros: This heat sink keeps my system running very cool. I left it running downloading from steam all night and it still keeps my system running at 31c at idle and when I am stress testing (still downloading also) it goes up to 62c I tried prime95 and the intel extreme tuning utility, both with the same result. The fan is so quiet, you will not notice it running. Excellent CPU cooler for the money.

Cons: This thing is HUGE! You will almost certainly have to take your motherboard out of its case to mount it.Some people have complained about the fan blocking the first ram socket but its not an issue with the X58 motherboard I have. The white fan shroud is not as attractive as a black one would have been

Overall Review: I replaced a Scythe Ninja with this cooler on an OC'd i7 920 (3.8GHz) mounted to an ASUS P6T-SE. No clearance problems with either the Mobo, or my case (Antec p180). Idle and full-load temps dropped an average of 17 degrees, and the max temp difference between cores went from 13 degrees to 4. Full-load I'm seeing max temps hitting 82 on my hottest core - and it was hitting 100 with the Scythe. Anyway, I like this better than the Noctua NH-D14 I have in my other system which was MUCH more expensive. It's worth noting that the base-plate was NOT flat, but that hasn't seemed to hurt performance. I coated both base plate and CPU with at thin coat of Arctic Silver, assembled the mount, and as I tightened down the screws (alternating side to side) I would gently rotate the heatsink back and forth to help "smooge" the compound together - and it seems to have worked. I maxed out the "pressure screw" BTW - which also seems to have worked.

Pros: Needed something better for my new crosshair IV + 1090T. After popping this on my cpu, temp went down 20C. While running large FFT in prime95 my cpu temps never get to 50C (stock cpu speed). With my other fan it would overheat and shutdown within 5 min. I am using only one fan on other side of ram. I replaced the stock fan with a sctyhe s-flex "f". can barely hear it even on high speed. ***for crosshair IV users: if you dont put a fan on the ram side, ANY memory will work. the heat sink doesnt reach over to the first dimm slot. if you do want a fan there, it will reach the first dimm slot and you'll have to measure to see if it fits.

Cons: Somewhat difficult to install by myself (didnt take mobo out).

Overall Review: The compression screw is not for am2/3 installs. THIS KIT DOES NOT COME WITH HARDWARE TO MOUNT A SECOND FAN.

Pros: AMAZING cooler! Right now I have a Scythe Ultra Kaze running at 2700 rpm on it and WOW! Keeps my i5-750 at 3.8ghz at 60C load after 8 hours of Intel Burn Test.

Cons: Installation was sort of tricky, but I eventually got it mounted. It's VERY sharp, so watch out not to cut yourself with it.

Overall Review: With this I'm planning on ramping my i5 up to 4ghz+ eventually. CM Storm Sniper i5-750 @ 3.8ghz Venomous X Ambient: 21-23C

Pros: It keeps my i5-750 CPU very cool, I've been monitoring temps on load and idle, and here are the temps I'm currently getting: Idle: 21-25C Load: 35-49C

Cons: None.. just look at those temps!

Overall Review: Usually I wait at least 1 week before reviewing anything, but this cooler only has 1 comment at this time, and it has really impressed me so far. Was going to go for liquid cooling, but someone suggested this instead.. I'm very happy I took their advice. Cons: In one system the heatsink/fan rotates slightly downward (clockwise) from its weight and doesn't stay perfectly perpendicular to the motherboard.

Overall Review: The instructions aren't that great, so pay attention to the drawings. Also, I wasn't sure which way to face the fan for the best airflow but that was easy enough to look up online.
