Enjoy whisper quiet PC action, without burning up your system in the process, with the Thermaltake CL-P0268 CPU Cooler. This heatsink and fan combo lends a rich, brilliant look to your PC with its fiery copper construction and performance-engineered fan.

The functional architecture of this cooler gives it a definite edge over some of its loftiest competitors. Each wafer-like fin on the 6-pipe heatsink is fashioned into an aerodynamic wave as a means of mitigating wind shear noise from the fan. The 92 mm fan blades are scientifically manufactured to spin in a unique RX, or reversed direction. The result is a fan that runs smarter and more efficiently, producing a scant 18dB at 2200 RPM, and dispelling heat at the rate of 38.7 cubic feet per minute.

Compatible with Socket 754/775/939 and AM2 platforms, this versatile Thermaltake model will fit seamlessly with Intel Pentium D/Pentium 4/Celeron D, AMD Athlon 64, 64 FX2, 64 FX, and Sempron platform CPUs. For ultra-cool protection and forward-thinking craftsmanship, this cooling fan and heatsink combo blows away the competition.

  • newegg 6 Heatpipes and Complete Copper Structure A complete copper structure improves heat conductivity with six heatpipes maximizing heat transfer for excellent cooling performance.
  • newegg RX Type Flow A special reversed fan effectively reduces noise to only 18dBA while creating optimum air flow for heat dissipation.
  • newegg Multiple Applications The Thermaltake MiniTyp 90 (CL-P0268) provides tool-free clips for convenient installation and broad compatibility with the Intel LGA 775 (using a push-pin holder), as well as AMD Socket 754/939 and the latest AM2 platforms.

Best Air Cooling 12/26/2011 7:13:22 PM

Pros: I have owned this cooler (bought from a store back in 2005 for an AMD K8 build) and have used it ever since in all my builds. I too had the fan burn out prematurely, but didnt bother me just slapped another old fan I had laying around (which actually was a faster fan so more air flow) and its been fine ever since. The all copper design is impossible to find these days. And the fact that its not some huge monster covering half your motherboard is a plus as well. The best solution in air cooling, its too bad they dont make them like this anymore.

The lowest temps I got with my old AMD X2 Manchester S939 processor was 13c idle/24c load at 1V Vcore and not overclocked with the help of 55F ambient temperature.

Cons: Just appears to have a fault fan. The stock fan is not good at moving air anyway, its made to be quiet not effective.

Overall Review: Wish they would bring this back and add the other 6 heatpipes that they have slots for.

Fantastic cooler - best air solution available 9/22/2008 11:41:41 AM

Pros: Solid construction with good material (not sure if all of it is copper, but the critical parts are). Nice quiet fan at normal operating conditions.

Cons: Not a major deal, but the 775 adapter forces the fan head to sit perpendicular to the vertical axis of the modo (I have a tower). So instead of a perfect square alignment with the mobo, the fan head sits as a diamond (kinda hard to describe; imagine a diamond (a big diamond that may cause issues with rear and top fines) inside a rectangle in the upper left hand corner). Because of that, I can't use my cases' top fan (I use an Antec 300; no biggie - the case has 2 - 120mm in front and 1-120mm in rear for air movement). Smaller cases may present an issue with the rear fan... so research carefully!

Overall Review: I might have used the adapter wrong, but I couldn't see any other way to mount it on my mobo...

Great 8/22/2008 9:32:23 AM

Pros: Material is all copper. Which copper is much better than aluminum to get ride of heat. And it a huge heat sink which works better than a smaller one

Cons: none really but....

Overall Review: It so huge that it may cause installation problems so keep in mind. Check your motherboard size and case size. heat sink may jam on the case or bock ram ports. I had that problem but got everything in with some work had to install the ram first before the processor and heat sink. Not a real big problem.

Great heatsink, fan burns out WAY too soon 8/9/2008 1:39:40 PM

Pros: Awesome heatsink, lots of people had problems installing but it worked just fine for me. It is pretty bulky, but most of that is held high enough to clear everything on my mobo. Fan runs quiet and holds a decent temp.

Cons: The darn fan burned out after only about 6 months use. From other reviews, it looks like it's fairly common to have it burn out much sooner than I would expect a fan to. There's also no way to purchase just the fan, so I've had to go get a standard 92mm fan to replace it, making it louder now, but the fan also pushes more airflow so it keeps it even cooler.

Overall Review: I'd be willing to purchase this just for the quality of the heatsink at this price, just plan on having to buy a new fan for it within the first year.

first aftermarket cpu coolere - okay 7/29/2008 10:29:05 AM

Pros: easier to install than stock amd cooler. looks cool. is very quite once u tighten all the screws. dropped my idle temp from stock cooler from 50-54c to 41-45c.

Cons: screws were loose when i first installed, which created a high pitched vibrating noise. took it off tightened all the screws - absolutely silent like it says on the sticker. would like it to be cooler, but i have a sonata2 which while quite & handsome, does not cool very well even with two 120mm fans on medium. i also had to take out my proccesor duct that came with my antec sonata case.

Overall Review: got it for 15 bucks at another store but still love newegg.
specs. 5600x2, fatality an932x 590sli, sonata2, earthwatts500 antec, 7300gt, 2 x wd 250gb hard drives. any thoughts on how to get my temps down more?

Great cooler 6/5/2008 10:22:37 PM

Pros: Nice, pure copper heatsink. Solid construction. Works very well. Much better than the stock Intel coolers I've worked with before. Cleans very easily during maintenance. Looks great, impresses your friends and relatives (who aren't familiar with third-party computer parts, anyway).
I recommend this cooler for anyone looking to impress or upgrade from a stock cooler without breaking the bank.

Cons: I would love, LOVE to give this CPU cooler a 5/5, but installation was rather cumbersome. This might be inherent due to its size and weight, but the fact remains that it was an exercise in frustration to get it to stay on the board. It's designed so that you don't have to take the motherboard out in order for it to latch on; frankly it would have been easier and less time-consuming to put a brace or support under the mobo rather than fiddle with the rather inadequate pins. This wasn't exactly my first time putting together a machine (I've built a few for myself, family members, friends and a few clients), so it's not like I don't know how to install a CPU cooler.

Overall Review: I don't really overclock, so I can't say how well it would perform in an overclocking setup. I can't say I've seen any performance increases that justify voiding the warranty anyway.
Also, be careful how you handle it when installing. I nearly sliced my finger open on the radiator blades.
The fan on the cooler can be a bit noisy, but not enough to be noticeable over the sound of any case fans and hard drive. I have 6 fans running in my case (including the 120mm fan in my power supply), yet I could sit next to it and have a quiet conversation.
