Thermaltake continues to bring innovative solutions to CPU cooling challenges. The CLP0564 overclocking-ready and six-core ready CPU cooler combines multiple features for optimal cooling of high-powered CPUs. The copper base rests directly against the chip to draw away damaging heat. Five seamlessly embedded heatpipes penetrate the cooling fin array above for optimal heat transfer and dissipation. Dual fans, one on each side, move large amount of cooling air over the convection fins at quiet noise level, and a fan control knob allows you to adjust the fan speed to reach a perfect balance between performance and noise.
Compatible with Intel CPUs using LGA 1156 / 1366 / 775 socket and AMD CPUs in Socket AM2+ / AM2 / AM3 packaging, this versatile Thermaltake model was designed to work with just about every modern desktop CPU. For ultra-cool protection and forward-thinking style, the Thermaltake Frio blows away the competition.
Superior Heat DissipationThe copper base and five 8mm copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density convection fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 120mm fans to deliver optimal cooling performance.
Adjustable Fan SpeedThe Thermaltake CLP0564 features a VR fan controller so you can fine tune the fan speeds for the optimum balance between cooling performance and noise level.
Excellent CompatibilityThe Thermaltake CLP0564 features broad compatibility with AMD Socket AM2+ / AM2 / AM3 and Intel LGA 1156 / 1366 / 775 platforms, providing an all-in-one cooling solution for your PC system.
Pros: I purchased this cooler last year to cool my Phenom II 1090T so I could overclock it without worry. I have been running this 1090T at 4.1GHz on all six cores for several months and it never see's temps outside of the high 40's C under any gaming or other load. Running both fans at 2000RPM, push pull, the cooler is very quiet. Its simply blends in with the soft noise of all the other fans in my case at this speed.
Cons: None from me. Know what you are buying before you buy it. Make sure it will fit inside your case. Like most all high-end air cooling solutions, its it large. Will easily fit in most quality full tower ATX or larger cases, such as my Cooler Master HAF 932 Black Steel. On some motherboards, running dual fans in push pull, one fan may extend out over a RAM slot on the motherboard. If you have RAM with a high profile heatsink that extends above the DIMM, you might have problems. If the heatsink is flush with the DIMM, you will not have any problems. I ran into this installing the cooler on a few ASUS "M4A" motherboard models. Make sure you mount and seat it properly, and correctly apply the proper amount of quality thermal compound. If you are getting bad temperature results with this cooler, it most likely user installation error. I get consistent results install after install.
Overall Review: I have subsequently installed this same cooler in multiple other systems. From i5 2500K and 2600K systems OC @ 4.1 to 4.5GHz. Phenom II quad and hexa cores OC to 3.8 to 4.1GHz. In every case it has performed fantastic, on par, and even better that much more expensive coolers. My personal basic system specs are as follows.
