Good PSU 1/24/2017 10:55:48 AM

Pros: The PSU is able to run a xfx rx480 8gb, i5-3570k, 8gm ram setup without issues, 5x120mm fans.
I have not tried to OC the CPU yet and there is no water-cooling.
Great price for a PSU that can handle a basic gaming rig, but appears there would be enough power to overclock the chip.

Cons: I try to keep reviews based on the product only, however, I cannot ignore the rebate company used. This PSU is heavily marketed with a rebate ranging from $10-$40 depending on time of purchase. I have seen rebates actively marketed for over two months, so it becomes a large deciding factor for a lot of people.

When I purchased this PSU along with components for a new gaming build, I did not open the boxes for a while due to the parts being a gift. When I did open the boxes and attempt to build my gaming rig, I encountered major issues with screen lockups. Signs were pointing to a bad PSU which prevented me from fulfilling the rebate as I would have had to use the original upc on the box which would have voided a return. After multiple tech support calls, we finally identified the graphics card as a bad component and I RMA’d this. I contacted the rebate company 7 days beyond the rebate expiration date and explained my issue and provided proof of the RMA#. I was told there would be no exceptions. I offered a compromise, asking if I can fill out the current rebate form for less money and was told again no exceptions.

I believe this is unfortunate and not good business. I was willing to compromise for a lower rebate and was still denied. I had proof of hardship and I believe an exception should have been made.

Overall Review: If you are buying this PSU by itself, it is a great buy on sale. If a rebate is included, please be cautious.

It Gets the Job Done 1/11/2017 12:08:19 PM

Pros: -Works as advertised
-Haven't had any issues in about 2 years

Cons: -Cables aren't braided
-Non-modular

Overall Review: I installed this in my media center PC about 2 years ago to replace a failing budget PSU I'd originally gotten for it. This thing has been a champ ever since. I've had zero issues with it, which is all I can ask for.
