New Platform for Better Ripple Noise Performance and Steady Voltage Output

All new circuit design with PFC & LLC digital controllers efficiently reduces ripple noise and gives steady voltage output.

Thermaltake

< 30 mV Low Ripple Noise

All ripples are lower than 30mV for high stability on +12V, +5V, or +3.3V from 0% to 100% load to ensure a high quality power supply. Low ripple noise will keep your performance-critical components, such as high-end graphics cards, to operate reliably for longer.

Thermaltake

Extremely Strict Voltage Regulation < ±2%

The voltage regulation of the PSU is set to no more than ±2% for major rails to meet the highest performance. The strict voltage regulation of the Toughpower iRGB Platinum Series is better than Intel’s standard ±5% for major rails and ±10% for -12V.

Digital Control Board

Digital power supplies sport high-efficiency switching transistors that perform only necessary steps and waste less energy given off as heat. In short, digital power supplies do not dissipate power, which creates waste, and incorporate smaller, lighter transistors. Using smaller parts that work more efficiently enables Thermaltake to craft smaller and lighter power supplies, typically one of the bulkiest components in any PC.

Thermaltake software sucks, whomever does software at headquarters should be replaced.

Pros: It works, RGB lights works but it has some bugs.
it syncs with TT rbg plus software, but again, its buggy.
Customer service is somewhat great if you are able to get in contact, as their RMA online service is buggy as well.
I replaced my PSU once, and so far its working.

Cons: Software, software, software... its sometimes even annoying.
if you get it to work, then you will like it.
when you create an RMA, make sure you get an email response of being processed. their online site is buggy enough, sometimes RMAs are not created even after you filled all the form.

Other Thoughts: it can be hugely improved, if software is constantly checked and updated.
next generation could use an upgrade with an onboard memory, so RGB is the same even after sleep / wake of the PC.
(yes, if you want the RGB to sync again, you will have to turn on the PC from start).

4 stars because the replacement process is good once started, you will be charge for another unit, they will send you the new unit... once you get the new unit, send the old unit back.. then they will refund the money back to the original form of payment.
once sent back, took about 3 business days once they got the old unit back to get the funds in my account.

if they want 5 stars rating... FIX THE SOFTWARE !!!!

Horrible software

Pros: -RGB looks nice when it works.

Cons: -Software is unbelievably bad. Design is amateurish, and it is ridiculously non-intuitive. Grammatical errors abound in the software.
-I constantly get intrusive pop-up messages from the software that it detects my fan not spinning. Can confirm it is spinning.
-RGB breaks occasionally; I have to go into software and re-do sync with fans to correct.

Other Thoughts: I don't understand how supporting software can be so bad. The RGB is the only value here, and it frequently stops working.

Don't buy thermaltake PT2

Pros: RGB fan is nice and saves you a warranty

Cons: This is my second Thermaltake PSU. PSU's are hard to judge because they're easily damaged or faulty. Check any PSU reviews the percentage for good vs bad don't really vary and most reviews are done simply for negative reasons. That said most PSU's will fail safe themselves before major damage, these PSU's will fry most of your components. In less than 6 months, I've now lost 998 dollars in 8 RAM sticks , 2 Motherboards, 1 HDD, new PSU, and a fan controller. The PSU shows no sign of fault until it is too late. Unfortunately I cannot recommend thermaltake PSU'S to anyone.

Nice Power Supply - Poor Software

Pros: Have always used Corsair in the past but wanted an RGB for this build. This power supply has worked well for me. I have seen it supply very stable 600+ watts for long periods with no issues. The RGB works well. If you don't have to have the software to monitor it, then it is a great power supply (see Cons).

Cons: WARNING NOT COMPATIBLE WITH CORSAIR MODULAR CABLES. I did not swap out my Corsair power supply cables when I changed to the TT and fried several devices. Make sure you use the cables that come with it!

The software if VERY poor. I have watched it constantly use well over 5% of an overclocked 8700K for hours just monitoring the PS and reporting to the cloud. The software also has a large memory footprint. There have been at least 3 updates to the software since I installed it. All versions of the software have been subject to false reports of "fan errors" several times per week. The software requires you login to you cloud account, if not it forces you to acknowledge several messages every time you boot. I never was able to get the iOS monitoring app to work even after setting up the cloud app. The software has issues displaying sensor stats. Not understanding mother board stats I would accept but Intel process temp or Nvidia card temp or freq?? With every new version it seems to be able to read a missing sensor but loses as many as it adds.

Other Thoughts: I have used Corsair Link for many years with their power supplies and it is far better than the software that comes with the Thermaltake Toughpower iRGB Plus 850W. Corsair Link gave me much more information and control of my power supplies.

After configuring the RGB and fan, I have disabled the software. The power supply maintained the RGB and fan setups. I hope they get their act together with the software, I would like to use it.

Horrible experience

Pros: None

Cons: Not reliable
A cheap unit overpriced.

Other Thoughts: Bought one power unit in April 2018, and in July it start making noise, hard disk like noise. I don't know exactly if it was the fan or the super capacitors made in Japan. Newegg is not accepting returns for this unit, so basically they can sell you any PSU they have in stock, and afterwards one need to deal with the manufacturer for RMA and repairs. Very convenient for Newegg.
Thermaltake replace the unit after one week, and total surprise, the new unit not working at all, not giving any power at all. For a PSU with a 10 years warranty one would expect no problem at all, but seems is an overprice unit with a quality worst than the cheapest PSU in the market.
I'm asking Thermaltake for a total refund, waiting their answer.
