ThinkPad 40Y7659 90W AC Adapter (Factory sealed Lenovo retail box)

Pros: What can I say? It works with my T60p and NewEgg shipped it out quickly.

Cons: Temperature: the transformer runs not warm but hot to the touch. This is not a huge deal given that it will generally be left on the floor, but the temperature difference between this Lenovo-branded adapter and the IBM branded adapter that originally came with my T60p Thinkpad is significant.

Overall Review: I got this on sale for $50 here which I personally think is too much for a power adapter, but the average price seems to be closer to $60-70 elsewhere.

Pros: It works, much cheaper than at the manufacturer website.

Cons: Spending this much money on a AC adapter breaks my heart but not really a con.

Overall Review: I just needed an adapter to use my laptop and since the manufacturer website was charge almost double, I found Newegg to be more competitive.

Overall Review: Make sure that your laptop is the one with the barrel connector, NOT the rectangular one!

Pros: Good price for real Lenovo adaptor

Cons: The other reviewer is correct, these ThinkPad adaptors have a short life due to the poor design of the DC connector strain relief. After many years I'm surprised IBM/Lenovo hasn't changed the design, it's a real pity to be scrapping whole power supplies when adding a few cents more plastic would probably solve the problem. I reinforce from the cable from the DC connector past the ferrite choke with self fusing rubber splicing tape to help it last a little longer.

Pros: Works with my Thinkpad T60p laptop.

Cons: This thing is complete junk. This is my second one of these. I haven't had it more than three months and now I need to buy a new one. The part that plugs into the laptop is very flimsy. The wires inside have started to break so I have to bend it in a certain way for it to work. The first one stopped working for the same reason.

Overall Review: Don't buy the cheap after market power cords, you will end up buying this one anyway. It's worth the extra money ($20-30). The power cords wear out over time but the cheap after market ones wear out much much faster.

Cons: These die after a while. The gray strain relief stops working, and the cable inside it starts to fray. Eventually your cable will make intermittent contact, and finally make none at all, leave it up to you to fix it somehow or shell out for a new one.

Overall Review: I treat all my electronics with care. After my second AC adapter died, I tried to treat my third one with a lot of care. I made sure that, whenever possible, the gray area wasn't pinched or bent, etc. It lasted only a few months longer than the others.
