Pros: The I7 performs well in most tasks. Can play Crysis 3 in mid settings, and boots up relatively fast for a HDD. Price was right.
Cons: After using one week, would not boot at all. Couldn't even get to the bios or boot options screens. Had to RMA and wait more than 10 days before returned to me, although really wanted a store credit after failing so soon. Functions OK for now. With 6 GB memory, will not run dual channel past 4 GB, so ordering 8GB.
Overall Review: It's a good value laptop. I just lost confidence in it after failing so soon. It does play games pretty well, though. I plan to install Windows 7 in another swap-in hard drive soon, as W8 is taking some getting used to (seems better suited for tablets & smart phones).
Pros: plays games good, runs normal programs very good, exceptional run mulitasking. easily bluetooth files inbetween smartphone and laptop. quite computer. nice simple design, nice keyboard
Cons: slow hard drive, task manager never shows processor struggling, while hard drive is often at 100%, winodws performance index shows hard drive as the lowest of whats measured. swapping this hard drive for a faster ssd is the best option, however ill just wait till the prices come down. and thatll be the upgrade the computer will get.
Overall Review: get an ssd hdd with it
Pros: * Fast processor
* Decent graphics Card
* Nicely designed
Cons: * Windows 8
* Slow Harddrive
Overall Review: Good computer for the price. Like another reviewer Windows 8 was not playing nicely with the laptop itself. I was going to take it into get it serviced but found out that switching out the hard drive does not void the warranty on this laptop, so the harddrive and OS had to go.
Seriously the easiest change out I've come across. One screw, pull out the hard drive and you're done. So easy, anyone could do it. Added Windows 7 and it's been smooth sailing since.
The keyboard took a few days to get used to, but now it's almost as natural as my old laptop.
Ended up with 3 years of warranty on the laptop and still kept it under 800 dollars. Good deals for all.
Pros: powerfull processor. did not get to do much with this thing to find out more!!!. It's bootup in bios after few time use.
Cons: window 8 , slo....wwww hard drive and bloat ware. May be it's was a defective unit to begin with. First time out of the box bootup it has to reboot again and taking about a min to get there!!.
This is may first samsung laptop and it did not leave a good impression to me!!
Overall Review: RMA process take too long!!!! i have to wait 7 to 10 days after new egg reveiced the laptop!!!
Pros: Good price; addl graphics card for most games (AMD Radeon™ HD 7730M Graphics); Bluetooth 4.0 driver
Graphics Cards Notes:
You can not 'turn on/off' the graphics card for the entire system.
I wanted to use it whith power plugged in and go back to the Intel 4000 when on battery;
To use the graphics card you assign individual programs to run on Hi-Performance graphics (use catalyst software)
This card is listed as a Mid-Range Grahics Card at notebook check.
Also found this useful email to connect with Samsung Support: firstname.lastname@example.org
They've been pretty responsive so far.
You CAN NOT pick up drivers for this card at the AMD site. They send you to the hardware vendor.
I tried downloading the AMD detect drivers etc, they all fail on this laptop.

Quick Start (widget) a Start Button Replacement (there may be others but works great for me)
S/W Update is very good too. First time through updated the BIOS without any additional work.
Cons: Windows 8 - the metro UI is completely usleess for non-touch screen hardware;
Once I boot up, go directly to Desktop; Getting used to Win 8.
The Hard drive (ST500LM012) is kind of old & clunky; recommend a hybrid drive
Installed Windows 7 on separate Seagate Momentus XT hybrid; works great
Note: Samsung Support site shows ZERO (0) Windows 8 software;
per email exchange, all of the software is now provided via S/W Update utility; not sure I like this; prefer to keep all drivers & downloads handy as needed.
Support site does have all Windows 7 drivers/software
Other cons: Smudgy Case.. . Battery seems to drain a tad faster than advertised; but maybe I just lose track of time :-)
S/W Update program should allow 'disabling/removing' software that you uninstall (60 Day Norton).
Overall Review: Not too difficult swapping out hard drive.
If you read other comments (A ma... on) on difficulty of BIOS update, ignore them. Fairly simple to switch.
F2 to BIOS update. Select BOOT - disable Secure Boot, Select OS MODE - UEFI OS. (btw the latter works for both Win 8 & Win 7)
Note: If you plan on keeping a Win 7 AND Win 8 drive. There is a RF shield on the hard drive, you have to keep attaching & re-attaching; I plan on getting an extra one from Samsung/e b.. y ..
All in all, great deal at around $700 (with free shipping) for everyday computing & most games.
Pros: I just got this machine and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. It runs programs quite well and fast, the images are sharp and crisp, and I have no problems playing the games I want on it on high settings.
Cons: Windows 8. That really is it. I downloaded a separate program for it so that I'm taken straight to the desktop with a customized start menu instead of that Windows 8 Metro garbage. It would've been 5 eggs had it come with Windows 7 but I suppose such is life, and the way technology is moving forward.
Overall Review: I would recommend this to my friends since they're casual gamers like myself. I'm sure this would be an awesome monster of a machine if Windows 7 was on it, though. Great beast for what it is.
Pros: I Love the AMD Radeon HD 7730m its not the best but its great for the money i play high demanding games i use battlefield 3 as a benchmark it runs it on medium high which is perfect for me the processor keeps up at all times and the build quality is nice, its a solid feeling laptop.
Cons: Windows 8 was a pain it was my first encounter with it and i didnt like any of it so i had to install windows 7.
Overall Review: Got more than i expected for the price.
Pros: This laptop has nice hardware for those of you who want to play games on the go. It will zip through any tough programs you can throw at it. I've tried After Effects Rendering, Team Fortress 2, and even all source games run like a dream. The battery life is also very respectable! I get about 4-5 hours on a single charge which is usually enough time for me to get any work done.
Cons: The mouse gestures can be finicky, and the wireless card can also have limited connectivity on boot. But neither of those cons outweigh the terrible OS: Windows 8. Windows 8 is the ugliest and least innovative operating system Microsoft has ever created. Consider installing Windows 7 with the drivers on the Samsung website.
Overall Review: Overall, I'm very pleased with this machine. I wouldn't recommend this to a hardcore gamer as the 7730M can't handle everything on maximum settings, but it works well for moderate gamers. The most realistic example I can give of this computer's performance is Trackmania United runs on high but not very high. Team Fortress runs smoothly at maximum settings as do all other source games.
