Pros: Faster and much quieter then the IBM/Hitachi drive it replaced in my IBM Thinkpad R32.

Cons: None really.

Overall Review: The trickiest part was removing the old hard drive from my Thinkpad R32. IBM applies this sticky white tape underneath their drives (presumably used as an electrical insulator). But once out, the Toshiba went in easily. Before removing the IBM drive, I cloned it with Acronis - also available at Newegg. I'm very pleased so far with the Toshiba drive.

Pros: Despite the large capacity, physical size is the standard height that all but the slimmest notebooks uses. Definately faster than my old IBM Travelstar 60 GB HD as well as my Fujitsu 60 GB HD.

Cons: Though all three HDs have felt warm inside the MSI-1013 barebones laptop chassis, this HD is the warmest of them all - sometimes it gets downright HOT (can feel warm on the wrist-rest area, and downright HOT on the underside).

Overall Review: Battery power life did not seem to be adversely affected.

Pros: Yes for anyone having a laptop this should work for you.

Cons: You have to contact the manufacturer to make sure.

Overall Review: You need to contact your system manufacturer but if you have a laptop the standards for upgrading are fairly standard and simple. ATA-6 is a specification for the drive not for the connector, please be aware of this. The only time one of these drives will not work is if: A: you have a laptop that uses SATA--Very rare B: You have an older laptop and the bios or OS will not support the drives size. C: Your laptop will not allow the Physical size of the drive to be installed. Always check the system manufacturer for information but don't be fooled either.

Comments: Upgraded my mac mini with this hard drive. The original is also a Toshiba, but 4200RPM. Wow, what a difference that made. Thanks NEWEGG!

Pros: 1: 16MB cache --- cache is relatively cheap, and can greatly increase the speed of hard drives, but few companies put 16MB of cache in desktop drives, and this is the only laptop drive I know of with 16MB of cache. 2: SUPER quiet. The only way I can tell that my laptop is booting is to feel for the slight vibration of it spinning up; it is almost entirely inaudible. 3: Low power consumption. 4: Extremely fast for a 5400RPM drive; it can sometimes perform better than the slower 7200RPM models. 5: Reliable.

Cons: None so far, and I've been using it since October of 2005.

Overall Review: This drive was a painless replacement for the 6GB hard drive in my "Pismo" PowerBook G3. It has not given me a moment of trouble.

Pros: Replaced my 40 GB 4200 rpm HD with this one. Runs quieter, faster bootup, partion restore very fast. Acronics restore for my D partition 12.4 GB located on a WD Passport drive was suppose to take 1 Hr 48 min. initially. It completed with verify in 22 min. Ordered late last Monday night received on Thursday. NewEgg rocks. Thanks for a great upgrade to keep this Laptop a few more years.

Cons: Hard Drive, None So far Do NOT Expect any. Getting a good backup of the old drive before attempting the drive swap, That was a challenge 7 CDs for C partition and 13 CDs for D parition. CD 4 was always corrupt, Passport was the only thing that worked.

Overall Review: Information on replacing the HD is hard to come by. For this particular model. One philips screw on underside behind the DVD/CD-ROM Combo Drive. Pull out the CD/DVD combo and the HD is displayed, under the DVD/CD-ROM Combo. Take off 4 screws holding drive caddy to base. Replace the exisiting 40GB HD in caddy with this 100GB one. Replace the DVD/CDROM drive and enjoy your new HD.

Pros: Good HD, runs fast and quiet and has plenty of room.

Cons: Saps my Battery like a moefoe.

Overall Review: Great for the price and excelent delivery time.

Comments: Bought this drive to replace my 4200 rpm that came with my satellite s509 laptop. What a difference. Just what the doctor ordered, much faster and quiet. Also noticed less heat. Flawless installation I was up and running in less than 20 minutes from start ot install of OS. 5 stars!. Ordered this friday recieved it monday!!! Newegg is the best!!!
