Pros: This is an excellent laptop but during my first review I found two Cons that perplexed me the first 3 days I owned this laptop. I have now found corrections to these would be problems. See Cons below:

Cons: 1. The LCD display color was very gray tone and lacking color. I found the fix to this by going in the Nvidia control panel and moving the color Hue all the way to the red side then moving the color saturation to 65%. 2. An easy fix to the Teamspeak2 microphone problem was purchasing a Logitech clear chat USB earphone/mic set. Ever thing is loud and clear now.

Overall Review: I should have waited a few more days before I did my first review. Problem solving sometimes takes time. Toshiba please accept my apology, but perhaps a better manual would have avoided this grief. This now places the X505-Q870 Laptop in 5 egg country. I loaded Fallout 3 on it today and the grahics are something to behold and it runs very smooth.

Pros: Very fast... Graphics are great big screen, I have been playing Starcraft 2 beta and is looks amazing. The sound is also to notch for a laptop. LED back light for the keyboard is also note worthy.

Cons: Does get very warm if you do any gaming. Thats why I bought ZALMAN Notebook Cooler Model make sure you get the metal variation because it maintains a cool temp even when gaming.

Pros: This computer is fast, in fact it goes over the speed limit. Eco mode provides high performance while offering long battery life. Eco mode has hot key on the side, tap it and its immediately activated. Screen = prefect! Backlit keyboard = epically amazing! The piano black glossy finish shines and sparkles. Speakers are comparable to my Logitech Z-5500 505 Watt system that cost me $350. Screen is held closed magnetically so the clips don't break off. Blu-Ray drive is a wonderful feature, though I have not used it yet, I am sure it will be amazing. Windows 7 speeds! Passes SuperPi in just seconds! Stays cool and quiet with great preloaded applications! At first the computer would crash upon sleep mode, with little research I learned there was a BIOS update from Toshiba. Toshiba makes it quick and easy to update the BIOS, so this is not a compliant but instead a compliment for excellent customer care from Toshiba. I will be buying an extended warrantee just in case!

Cons: The machine is heavy and wide. The finish attracts skin oil and finger prints. The shortcut keys on the side are very sensitive. The webcam is a bit foggy, though I haven't taken the plastic wrapper off the screen yet. There is a lack of decent cases for screens this size. I have been carrying it around in a pillow case, wrapped up carefully, squeezed in my old 17" case, though I have an 18.4" sleeve in the mail from 3Bay. Power brick huge. Left click on touchpad sticks and is annoying, over time I'll probably get a bluetooth mouse or learn to tap the pad rather than the button.

Overall Review: This really is a great computer. The size makes it nice to have on your lap, you can keep your legs spread apart and not have it fall off your lap. I keep a screen cleaning cloth with me to clean off the finger prints. I am not a gamer, I just felt like I deserved the best. This certainly is the BEST! I take my laptop with me anywhere, though it is heavy, I still look forward to the future relationship with my computer.

Pros: As expected from the stats/specs sheet, this thing is a beast. This is my first Win7 experience after being a tried-and-true XP fan/guru for years, and it has been a pleasant one. The speakers vibrate the laptop just enough to almost give a viable bass-feeling rumble when playing intense games, which is a bit alarming and cool at first. The glossy keyboard is spacious, and the keypad/backlit feature is beautiful/useful. The quad-core is FAST (underline here) and can delegate and perform like a champ. The nVidia 360M has been able to process everything I've thrown at it game-wise, and passed on High details and with flying colors. And the screen on this thing is huge - make sure you know what to expect when this billboard arrives at your doorstep. The Blu-ray is great, and the DVD burner is a speed demon, burning my recovery disc in about 3.5 minutes, including a verify before hand. Does everything in the world I could want a desktop-replacement to do, short of burning Blu-ray.

Cons: So, for all of the positives, there are some negatives - ~ This thing runs HOT. make sure you give it room to breathe or you might be able to fry an egg on your lap. ~ The highs on the speakers sound a bit tinny. Nothing too noticable, but seems to become more evident after they've been playing for an hour solid. ~ Had a bad Windows install from factory, and had to completely reinstall Win7 and all drivers from the recovery partition. This SUCKED. Appearently, although the computer is the fastest thing I've played with recently, this process to restore it to out-of-the-box state took over 6 hours to complete thanks to the continous reboot-configuation drivers install routine that Toshiba programmed. Everything works, but it took forever to make it so. ~ Attracts fingerprints like every other X505 - like a magnet. ~ The charging setup is the size of a brick, and weighs twice as much - but it's like 8 foot long, so you can still stretch out. ~ No 1080p as an option for resolution

Overall Review: Bought as a desktop-replacement laptop for a graduate student who loves to game in his spare-time, and I have not been disappointed. I've tested a few high-demand games and all have been beautiful to watch/play. It's nice to be able to turn up all the Windows beautifying features and still be able to crank up the settings on programs without any lag - something I've never been able to do. And for the price it's at now, it's so worth it to have everyone set you up with a perfect "That's what she said" line when they see the size of this behemoth.

Pros: Well, I received the replacement and have been very satisfied so far. This is a heavy laptop yet not so much that you can’t throw it in a bag and go. The power supply is huge though! While operating normally it does run warm, though when you’re gaming (I’ve been playing Fallout 3) it does get hot. Before I purchased this computer I went to BBuy and purchased one of the Asus gaming laptops and that computer (before I returned it because the keyboard was warped) ran extremely hot. So I don’t think the heat from my Qosmio is excessive.

Cons: I’ve noticed I have a burnt out pixel which wasn't there before. Hopefully I will not get any more. Twice I’ve had weird “pixilation (?)” on the screen; not really sure what to call it. To get it to go away I’ve had to move a window over the spots. It’s almost like the screen gets stuck in those spots and moving a window over them gets them to work again.

Overall Review: It took about 1 week to send the original laptop back to Newegg and receive a new one. I was treated very well by Neweggs employees, there was never an argument, and they were always able to answer my questions.

Pros: FAST! Reliable! Good weight for it's capabilities! Incredible video and sound! I upgraded to this model from a Satellite A305-S6916. The Satellite was a great computer, but since the app I run most of the time, Flight Simulator X and several related apps, I needed something faster. The Satellite ran FSX with 10-20 fps framerates. Not bad, but that was with the graphics settings at mid-range. The harddrive was also a bit slow when loading textures. But, the X505-Q870 runs these programs many times better! With all FSX settings at MAX, I'm seeing consistent framerates in the 25-40 range, with short bursts over 70 from time to time. This is while having Firefox running, too! As for everything else, no complaints at all. More comfortable on my lap than the A305, which was uncomfortable due to the battery sticking an inch out of the bottom front of the computer. The X505 is very comfortable with cooling slots in good locations to permit good cooling. 5 Stars from me!

Cons: Battery life, but what do you expect with this kind of performance. It was expected and not a big deal. It can operate in different power-saving modes to help it keep running when it isn't plugged in. Mine usually is. Hard to find a case for. I decided to go with the backpack-type from Toshiba. It's got more than enough space for the computer (2 can fit in it), and several accessories. The backpack design is less prone to theft, too. Nothing else that I can think of. Great laptop!

Overall Review: This is a gamers dream! If you use graphics-intensive applications, then this is the computer for you. I also do a lot of video and photo editing, and Photoshop CS4 runs like lightening. It may be a bit much for the "average" user, price-wise. Overall, if it's in your budget and need something that you shouldn't have to upgrade for a few years, then this is a good choice. I don't regret the purchase at all.

Pros: This is one fast laptop! It is as fast as my gaming desktop. While running Microsoft Flight Sim X at medium settings it was hitting 120 to 160 FPS with acceleration direct X on! Turning everthing on very high produced a very fast 75 FPS average. I have played COD WaW and it seems very fast on that as well. All other applications are equally very quick. By the way, I have read some bad comments being made about the Nvidia gts360 grahics card. In this computer it runs very well, FPS are as fast as my desktop with Nvidia GTS250 1gig OC, even faster on FSX. The grahics are visually just as good also, I hooked it up to a Sansung 20 inch LCD and it was really beautifull on that monitor. The BlueRay feature is nice, but you have to use the keyboard to operate that feature. Sound is pleasant and better than most laptops I have ever used. A little more base than two speaker rigs, but had to turn down the treble it was a little tiny to my ear.

Cons: I have two reasons to drop one egg off the overall rating. 1. The LCD screen while being just okay, does not have good color rendition even though it is very sharp. It has too much graytone to its display. However it did very well on FXS, not as well on COD WaW. When I plugged the 20 inch samsung moniter into it it was awsome on COD! For this much money I expect a better onboard display. 2. I use TeamSpeak 2 while gamming and the on board sound card has issues while trying to use a microphone with it. I backed up to older drivers and it seemed to work better. however it is not as loud or clear as it should be. Perhaps better drivers will clear this problem up at a later date.

Overall Review: Overall this is a fine laptop and I have been a little picky about the LCD screen, if anyone knows how to correct the color rendition please let me know. This computer is a keeper and it will be around my computer room for the next 10 years or better, I enjoy it very much.

Pros: good all around.especally for games.would recomend it to anyone for a gamming laptop. the video is sweet i have only have it for less than a day.

Overall Review: i got a bad one and am leaving the state and they sent me a new just right before i am leaving. I have not haved any problems with the new one i like it alot and worth the money.
