Overall Review:
My local network is huge and easily slow my internet to a snail.
This router is great in concept but fails at bandwidth control and I do have multiple users set, groups set as well ad bandwidth set for those profiles.
I may try another router like the 480T+ or the rack mountable version

Multiple failed units within 2-4 months after installation.
Extremely poor service/communication from TP-Link support
TP-Link delaying/refusing to replace or exchange the units.
Overall Review:
My company (IT support) have used and recommended TP-Link products to our customers for 8+ years and have used their routers with good success. However, the 6th version of this router is an absolute piece of junk. We have had 2 in a row start failing within a few months of installation.
TP-Link support is one of the worst (and that's saying a lot, since we deal with a lot of support depts. for a living). Communication is near non-existent, after a half hour phone conversation (struggling to communicate with someone who doesn't understand/speak English very well) and then several emails exchanges over 5+ weeks (taking multiple emails in order to get a response from different random staff who start the process over again).
We are going to be switching to a different company for networking products for our customers.
Pros: easy to setup and when working was okay.
Cons: Router freezes up 5 - 8 times a week. also keeps having issue with DHCP where one or more computers just loses internet. All you have to do is unplug and reset it and it starts working. Tried calling Tech support and all they have is foreign people who you cannot understand wanting you to factory reset the device over and over again. I can't believe all of the good reviews unless i got a lemmon but i have also seen online where this is a very common issue with this model.
Overall Review: I am using 2 wan ports and with load Balancing.
Pros: Hasn't dropped a connection as long as I've had it - about 6 months.
Cons: None that I'm aware of.
Overall Review: Have all 3 PC's connected to it. Haven't had any complaints. I don't pay any attention to "Load Balance." So I don't know what it's doing there.
Pros:
Has all the features I needed and more.
Has the ability to use more than one WAN at the same time.
Cons:
LAN communication to the switch (a Netgear M5300) will break down once a week. The device can still ping outside websites from the UI, but will not route any outside traffic to devices. Requires a reboot and then it works just fine again. This simply will not suffice in any network to be rebooting a device every week.
UI is difficult at times. Very unintuitive placement of some items.
DHCP reservation is wonky. You can only reserve an IP address that is in the DHCP range. Who thought that was a good idea?
Workaround is to set the DHCP range low, reserve the address you want, and then set the DHCP range above it again. Works just fine when you do that.

Device is on the newest firmware build.
I had bought two of these for two different environments. FedEx failed to deliver one of them, thanks so much.
Testing worked very well and did exactly what I wanted. In practice, the device could not last more than a week without locking up.

Pros:
I have a lab where each test bench must be connected with a wired router to the building network. We started using the R470T routers about a year ago and now have about 10 in operation. They have preformed flawlessly. They are replacing Cisco RV180 and RVS4000 routers as well as Linksys BEFSR41 and BEFSR81.
These TP routers boot up quickly when we need to, but we have not had any cases where they have gone down unexpectedly. I like that they have a built in power supply so no bulky plug in supplies are needed. They are have about every configuration option I could think of using. They are the best thing I've found for our application and happen to be the least expensive.
Cons: These routers have a lot of options, and that means that there is a lot to figure out on the user interface. It did take me some time to figure how to set up things like port forwarding.

Pros: Prev. same model worked for me for years
Cons: trouble with using WAN2 (disabling WAN1) after a power interruption. Had to reboot/unplug/plug multiple times.
Overall Review: the first one I bought several years ago (same exact model/different case) worked well and was happy it had an extra WAN port after lightning fried WAN1. So I purchased product again because of issue that whenever I lost power (on prev. router), had to reboot/unplug/replug for 30-45 min. numerous times to get it to work on WAN2. So I get the new one and it was DOA. Well I think the power light lit, but could not even log in to router from computer, and of course no internet connection. I returned.
