Pros: I got one that was defective. It corrupted random image files when used in my Canon DSLRs. I tried several times to reformat and tried filling the card with data to let the controller map around the bad sectors. No luck. I went to the Transcend website and they have a very easy RMA process. I looked up my Newegg account online and printed the invoice, which was needed for the RMA to be accepted. I got back a new compact flash card of the same model in about a week. Nice customer service, Trancend!

Cons: Wish it would have worked the first time. If you buy one of these, test it thoroughly before you trust it with any important data.

Overall Review: Transcend flash memory cards are priced below Sandisk. Pro photographers spend the bucks for Sandisk but I'm an amateur so I can afford to take a chance to save a little money.

Pros: My tests are less scientific (shooting RAW in both cameras)...6 second high speed burst tests and how long does it take to write to card. On Canon 7D - 30 frames in 6 seconds, finishes writing in another 12 seconds. So in 18 seconds the 7D is shooting and writing 30 frames to this card. Compared to Sandisk Extreme III (older version) I am getting about 24 frames and it is taking 29 additional seconds to write (35 seconds total). Similar results in the 5D MKII, except with the Transcend card in, after the buffer filled, it was able to write back to the card fast enough that the 5DMKII would keep shooting about 1 frame every 3/4 second. A quick movie test seemed to show the card worked flawlessly.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: This is one of those times that it almost seems to good to be true. Newegg has the 16GB cards at a great price and their performance (so far) seems stellar. The Sandisk cards have been very reliable, but if the Transcend card proves as much, this will be my card of choice for the foreseeable future. I will certainly reply should I notice any unusual behavior...but this appears to be $65 very well spent.

Pros: I've owned a bunch of transcends (133x) before as well as Sandisk(ultra II & now two 16gb extreme III 30MBs), Lexar (133x), and a couple Ridata (80-150x). I wanted a faster card but didn't want to spend $$$. Anyway could only find a couple reviews on the 400x around the web. There are plenty on the 300x but that thing is twice or triple the price of the 400x. I only use 16gb cards now. Can't stand smaller cards. A lot of people say don't put all your eggs in one basket but I fear losing baskets not eggs. Anyway I did a test with it compared to my sandisks extreme 30MB/s versions and here is what I came up with. I took the same pictures on both cameras 35 times. Sandisk -- 35 Pics - 1,069.81MB(1,121,779,712 bytes) in 41.76 Seconds Transcent -- 35 Pics - 1,070.84MB(1,122,861,056 bytes) in 31.12 Seconds 16GB Sandisk Extreme III (30MB/s)-- Averaged 25.62MB a second Transend 400x -- Averaged 34.54

Cons: Newegg please stop using DHL they take forever. Took 8 days from California to Utah. FedEx and UPS take two - three at the most.

Overall Review: Going to probably buy the 32gb version of this card and then i'll let ya'll know.

Pros: It works

Cons: Performance is nowhere near what is advertised. After noting slow performance in my Nikon D 300 S, I benchmarked with ATTO and with flash memory toolkit. The memory tests at a maximum of 20 MB per second write and 32 MB per second read. This translates to 133X write speed and 200 X read speed. I am very disappointed and am returning to Newegg.

Overall Review: I also timed large file transfers with similar results to the above benchmark tests. Transcend advertises this as 400 X which is 60 MB per second then further says it is only 60 MB per second in read and is only 30 MB per second and write. Actual tests indicate that it is approximately half that speed.

Pros: I liked the cost of this card and it certainly seems to work in my rebel XT. I can see the card on my PC and a Mac with a regular card reader.

Cons: I bought it for my finance's new D300S and it seems to register on the card and I can format it. The problem is any picture taken is all black (R=0, B=0, G=0). The Nikon D300S just does not like this card.

Overall Review: Before buying this card check with others if it's compatible with what you will be using. I've never had an issue like this before with a CF card. It works perfectly fine in my old Canon Rebel XT so I will be using it for that. But it would be nice for my beloved to have another card.

Overall Review: The performance of this supposed 400x card seemed slow so I RMA'd to Transcend. The card I got back does seem faster, but is definitely not faster than a 200x card I have from another manufacturer. Then I read the fine print on the Transcend website - the 8GB and 16GB 400x card are only a max of 30MB/s - that's 200x. I could have sworn Newegg's desciption had said 90MB/s read and 60MB/s write, but Newegg has since corrected their description. The box the product comes in has a sticker that says 60MB/s read and 30MB/s write - if you peel off the sticker it says 90MB/s read and 60MB/s write. So someone botched this at some point, and I got suckered in thinking I was getting a 400x card. Little bit of a bait and switch, but, overall I'm satisfied with the card given the price.

Pros: Great performance for the price. Write fast enough for photos (RAW OR jpeg) and also for fulll HD video. The 16 GB are perfect for me.

Cons: Misleading info in package. I fell for the 90MB/seg Read and 60MB/seg write speeds I read in the description but it's actually 60MB read / 30MB write. Someone dropped the ball there.

Overall Review: Even tough some buyers like me were fooled by erroneous info, I'm happy with the card. I use it in my Canon 7D and still haven't encounter any issue. I shoot in burst mode in RAW with no problem. Also, full HD video came out without problems. For my needs, this card is perfect. You won't find a better card for this price. I recommend it

Pros: Big and affordable. Works OK in my 7D.

Cons: I'm using this card in a Canon 7D. Other reviewers say "works great" but I'm not sure what they're comparing to. This card appears to be a bit slower than my Sandisk Extreme III (a 200x card), which seems to match up with another reviewers analysis that these are somehow really 133x cards. I can only shoot 20 RAW pics in a row if I'm lucky. 6-8 is more an average case. Do I need to shoot lots of RAWs in a row - no. But I can pretty consistently shoot 27 in a row on a 200x card.... so something is fishy here.

Overall Review: Despite my cons, running a benchmark (atto) on this card through my card reader shows that it is faster than the 200x card. That's what makes me say the jury is still out. (BTW - I love my Hoodman UDMA reader - wish Newegg sold those!)
