Does this card reader have an LED light?

It has a blue LED inside of the case that lights up when plugged in.  The part of the case with the Transcend logo on it is partially transparent, so the light shines through.

Will I be able to put a sd card in this and then transfer photos from my pc to the sd card?

Yes you will be ale to do that. I bought this to use in my Nintendo 3DS XL; just put your SD card in the reader, and drag/drop files like you would with a USB thumb-drive.

I need to transfer pictures from Memory stick duo card into a flash drive and later transfer from the lash drive into my mac. The  flash drive storage capacity may be 2.0 - 8GB. Dose this unit support my requirement?

This adapter works fine for what it is intended, but it DOES NOT support Sony Memory Stick cards.  There other choices, however, that do... IOGEAR makes several different models.  The GFR210 is probably the most versatile claiming 50 different card combinations.  SONY made an adapter at one time, too... MRW68E/D1/181 but is no longer being made.  You can probably still find it from sellers who carry obsolete items but it is a single-purpose device and likely costs as much or more than the IOGEAR device.

If you perform a web search for any of these mfg/models you should be able to easily locate a seller.  Or, just search for "memory stick duo adapter" for more choices.

will it read CF cards?

It only has ports for SD and Micro SD.

I'm not familiar with CF cards, so unless a CF card can fit into either of those ports, the answer is probably "no".

I understand that it will read SD memory, but will it read all of the SD derivatives, ie SDHC, and SDXC?  Thanks Bill Payne

Is this item (Item# N82E16820208470) the same as Item# 9SIA1K60P54937 ?

Both state that they are Transcend USB 2.0 Card Readers with same Manufacturer Model# TS-RDP5K.

But the photos appear to be of very different models.

Dear Fellow NewEgg Customer,

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you anything about comparisons here, as I don't know what the other variant of this card reader is.  What I CAN tell you is that the one that we got, the N82E1682020847 variety of the TS-RDP5K, works very well.  We have a few programmers who use it in a software development environment, and they are currently all pleased with this product.  The unit that we got reads both SD and Micro SD, and our programmers actually use both.  We bought six units and at least half of them are used on a more-than-once-a-weekly basis, with the others used less often.  I have no information on the other part number you mention. will this work for all sd card's ?

It has worked with the ones I have tried, but I would not go so far as to promise that it would work with all.  I have other adapters that have either been slow, or not worked at all, with certain cards.  This one works fine for me with several major brands (Samsung, PNY, Transcend).
