The TRENDnet documentation is confusing. I assume I can connect four PoE cameras that use a maximum of 7 watts each with no issues, correct? And use the non PoE port #5 as the Ethernet data line back to the my NAS?

I currently use it for 4 cameras and the 5th non-poe port goes back to my NAS exactly as you describe. I would say that if you try to go the full 7 watts on all 4 you will find the unit gets very hot. I am running 4 cameras at around 4.5 watts each, and I had to make sure that there is a fan in the enclosure that I have this in.

so this will support POE security cameras? it says 1-4 are POE and port 5 is just link port correct?

We used this switch for IP phones. It works great for that. If you have POE cameras, it should work fine.
