Can someone explain feature: Failsafe shutdown mode? Has anyone verified the feature?

If the unit experience a surge that engages the MOVs for protection, the power strip no longer works. Although it sounds like a PIA, this is unique bc otherwise, you would have no way of knowing that the MOVs were shot, and you had a need to replace it. I consider this a GREAT feature and will buy it bc of of the failsafe shutdown. Also this implies that you want your UPS downstream from this unit.
