Pros: Cheap. Dropped it in and was ready to play in a windows 2003 server.

Overall Review: I set this up as a shared fax server for sending and receiving faxes only. Client sends and receives about 30 faxes a day from the office and their home via a VPN connection. No problems, no questions, and no paper required. Awesome. Thanks USR.

Overall Review: I had a perfectly good faxmodem (hummingbird) ... until I updraded to Win7 x64 bit. Then there were no drivers to be had for it. Bought this, popped it in a spare PCI slot and it got recognised and fired up right away.

Pros: Drivers installed OK, Phone tools SW OK. No problems with install. Needed this for a slim uATX case.

Cons: Download speeds slower than my other computer with a 7 year old modem. Internet update tool did not work. Need to start looking for a new modem!

Overall Review: My old modem (USR 5687) download speeds using CNET bandwidth meter tool: {42K, 35K, 45K, 44K 45K}. New model USR 5670 modem: {34K, 35K, 24K, 34K}. Worst of all it feels MUCH slower than even the ratings indicate. Even disconnects periodically where my other modem is solid. Maybe I got a bad one??? Everyone else seems to love it.

Pros: Works Great. Purchased for MS Fax Services on a W2003 Small Business Server machine.

Cons: Drivers... Drivers on disk work perfectly. The GUI on the disk does not install the drivers?!?!

Overall Review: When the 'new hardware wizard' pops up, throw in the CD, and select 'install from specific location' select your cd-drive and you'll be fine.

Pros: This little US Robotics modem is working great for faxes in "Windows Fax and Scan" in Windows Vista 32 bit SP2. As soon as I plugged it in and powered my computer back on, Vista recognized it, and it worked. I didn't have to put the CD in or download the driver or anything. The first time I loaded up Windows Fax and Scan I realized immediately there was a problem getting a dialtone, because the reported error message was CORRECT. The other reason I realized it is because the modem has a little piezo speaker on the board (which the TrendNet modem does NOT), and even though if I was hard of hearing I still would not have heard it click, I have good hearing so I heard it click on and off inside my case when it was picking up and hanging up the phone, trying to get a dialtone. Once I changed out the phone cable, I was in business right away, and it worked right and well for my faxes the FIRST TIME, with NO CONFIGURATION. The faxes looked great on the other end.

Cons: It wasn't free? I'm really stumped here.

Overall Review: Thanks to the speaker on the modem, I could hear it dialing from inside my computer case. Unlike the clicking sound of it picking up and hanging up the phone, the dialing and connecting sounds could be heard quite clearly from inside my case even by someone without the best of hearing. I really cannot tell you how much easier HEARING the modem makes it to troubleshoot any problems you may have. I previously purchased the TrendNet modem, which in order to download the proper driver from their website, I had to not only know my Model number, but the exact version number of the modem circuit board. In order to identify the exact version number, I was required to compare the modem I had received with pictures on their website. Why in the world they couldn't have used a different model number for each version is beyond me. It was a huge hassle, & I also had to install the drivers BEFORE plugging in the modem, or it wouldn't have worked. The USR worked right & well 1st time, EASILY.
