The award-winning original next-generation killer app returns with Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. The Ghosts are back!

It’s 2014, and the soldier of the future returns to encounter a new and more imminent threat along the recently completed wall on the U.S./Mexico border. The Ghosts are more powerful, with an upgraded Integrated Warfighter System (IWS) but will have only 72 hours to assess the threat and stop the rebels from reaching U.S. soil. With a border that’s 1,900 miles long and an enemy that doesn’t play by the rules, this is a job for the U.S. military’s most elite fighting unit. This is a job for the Ghosts.

  • newegg Groundbreaking Visual Experience The original Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter set the visual standard for next-gen consoles; Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 will take that achievement to a whole new level. The war zone comes to life as you navigate through trash-strewn streets and pick off enemies from behind bomb-scarred structures. The cutting-edge physics and particle systems will show you some of the most intense and realistic explosions, smoke, and environment destruction ever seen in a video game. Dynamic lighting and shadows will morph as real-time day/night cycles and a constantly changing weather system require you to adjust to the changing conditions on the fly.
  • newegg All-New Battlegrounds For the first time ever, the Ghosts will defend U.S. soil from a cross-border attack, taking the fight to all-new locations. The Ghosts will battle enemies in mountain terrains, barren deserts, and even on their home turf in El Paso, Texas. Each environment presents its own benefits and challenges and will call for fresh tactical approaches.
  • newegg Vastly Improved AI AI is more challenging than ever. Watch your back as rebels send their own team members to flank your position or gain vantage points by utilizing vertical gameplay to pick you off from the rooftops above. But don’t worry – your team’s got your back. Improved squad-mate AI will now feed you more of the information you need with descriptive commands like “enemy spotted behind red truck ahead.”
  • newegg Improved Cross-Com The revolutionary Cross-Com feature has been upgraded for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. The new Cross-Com 2.0 will give the player more information than ever before. Not only will you be able to see what your friendly forces see in the top left display, but the click of a button will expand that to full-screen view for a clearer and more precise picture. This will give you a more comprehensive view of the entire battlefield. The new Full Command View will allow unprecedented precision in developing and issuing tactical plans on the battlefield.
  • newegg Expanded Support Command lethal air strikes with jet fighters. Gain mobile cover for otherwise impassable situations and replenish armaments on the battlefield using an unmanned artillery MULE. Immediately heal the entire team, including the squad leader Scott Mitchell, with an all-new medic class of soldier.
  • newegg Multiplayer Returns The game that dominated the Xbox Live online gaming service is back and it’s bigger and better than ever before.

Will Not Install 8/2/2011 11:02:55 AM

Pros: NA, can't play the game

Cons: The game during install will not accept the ID key. Have tried several different keys with the same result. Game install program is obviously corrupted.

Piece of garbage 4/20/2011 7:21:56 PM

Pros: NONE

Cons: The key does not work! When entered 10 different ways even on a brand new build, the install program rejects the shipped multipaleyer id. It's probably part Ubisoft's fault for having Encore do the distribution this go around.

Yep, Uninstallable 2/10/2011 3:23:20 PM

Pros: Probably a good game, I liked the previous Ghost Recon.

Cons: Won't install for me either. Read the other reviewer which had problems and thought I'd try it since most people seemed to work. Fails to install at the prompt for the CD key as the included one doesn't work. SERIOUSLY STUPID!

Do not know can't play it 12/26/2010 12:30:18 PM

Pros: No Idea can not install it.

Cons: During installation it asks for a CD Key. THe CD Key printed in the sleeve does not work. Searched the forums and found I am not the only one with a problem. Even people who purchased it through steam are having problems. Steam is at least working with Ubisoft to determine a solution. It looks to be a problem with Ubisofts authentication engine not allowing the older games to authenticate. COnsidering RMA since no timeline on a fix is available and even though it was $10 an unplayable game is worthless.

Great! 8/11/2010 12:12:30 PM

Pros: I've played through this and the original GRAW twice now. Campaigns are really fun, especially the original GRAW because of the realistic locations. Both these games have great graphics and are the most realistic I have seen. Lots more weapons to choose from than in the original GRAW. Guns sound realistic and the reloading sequences are correct. Little things like this make the game very realistic and engaging. Being responsible for controlling your squad adds an extra level of gameplay. The squad control interface has been greatly improved since the original GRAW. Unlike the first GRAW u can pick up other peoples weapons so you don't have to worry about ammo as much. Can't beat the price either for a good FPS campaign.

Cons: As in the original GRAW the game is extremely difficult. Your squad members are remarkably unintelligent and unless you baby them along and protect them they will get themselves killed. You end up having to do most attacking by yourself with your squad following you around. They are however useful for defending a position. Also you can send them in to the open to make hidden enemies fire at them, then you can snipe their attacker before your squad member is killed. Some parts of the game are extremely difficult and will require many attempts trying different tactics to pass.

Overall Review: Certain parts of the campaign are just ridiculously difficult. When you get to a seemingly impossible part just attempt it a couple times then play a different game and come back to it later. Otherwise you'll drive yourself insane.

Awesome Awesome Awesome. 10/1/2009 3:50:54 PM

Pros: This game feels wickedly realistic (That can be a bad thing! haha), graphics are amazing, maps are pretty detailed can be challenging, and sounds are very detailed.
I find this game is suprisingly fun for how paced it is, I just fell in love with it after playing it a while :D
Now all I need now is a more powerful computer to play everything at max settings!

Cons: This game can be VERY difficult if you rush through things without planning.
Your teammates' AI can get rather annoying with their innability to follow orders..
Some maps are just ..HUGE!

Overall Review: I just bought the first game but I haven't played much of it. I had this before the first GRAW so I guess I'll just have to see which one I prefer.
