Verbatim DVD-R 4.7GB 16X DataLifePlus Shiny Silver Silk Screen Printable - 50pk SP

Pros: I have been using these discs (the 16X) and also the 8X of the same brand / type. They have never let me down. I have used them to make backup copies of DVDs, backup digital photos and music, and hard drive images. I will continue to buy these DVDs until they are no longer available to me.

Cons: None that I have seen.

Overall Review: There was a point in time were I had many failures in a batch of DVDs. At first I thought what many would think, that the DVD's were bad. I contacted Verbatim and they directed me to mail them back all the failed burns which they replaced. I found out later it was my DVD burner that was the problem and not the discs. Once I replaced the burner that I often had failed burns on I never had the issue again.

Pros: not a coaster at any speed with pioneer 110 v1.39firm, pioneer 109, or pioneer 108.

Cons: none

Overall Review: one of the best, nice thickness for scratch protection and reliable. again make sure your drive is flashed with the newest firmware since this media is new.

Pros: Verbatim makes high quality media, this will work for you if you're into PS2 homebrew (4x). Nice shiny surface on top that provides a high-contrast background for permanent marker.

Cons: First disc on top wasn't usable...looked fine physically, but optical drive refused to write to it. Dunno what the problem was. Also, people expecting the top to be a shiny silver will be disappointed...it's tinged with a green similar to that of a CD-R.

Overall Review: Person who reported that it skipped at 20x burn didn't read the spec... these discs are only rated up to 16x.

Pros: Fast speeds. Great reliability. This is my third cake box of these and not a single coaster yet!

Pros: Best disc I've ever used. Very good quality with DVD files and images.

Cons: Not really a con but don't try to burn them at 20x using Image Files on LG DVD Burrners it tends to skip when played

Pros: 'Kailey1497' has a cowpie instead of a burner, or his cables are bad. Maybe his mobo is no good. I have been using these disks for no less than 2 years, and I strongly believe that so far, there is nothing better than them, except for some 24k gold archival grade disks that you would not buy just like that, 'cause they cost alot. So far, only coasters I had were my fault. Disks themselves are excellent 5+ eggs!

Cons: NONE whatsoever.

Overall Review: Might come with a label-side laquer coating, but this would make them unprintable. I do not need to print on them, though: just use some plain old Sharpie permanent markers.

Pros: This dvd, right here, the 50 pack spindle! Wow. I've used memox and TD* up until now. They've all burned at 16x speeds like their supposed to. But this Verbatim, 18x!!!! I have an NEC/Opiatric Drive from NEC/Sony or w/e. First 18x disc right here. The shiny top coat makes it easy to write on. I originally bought these because I heard they're better than the MEMO**x's and they won't mess up your drive like they do.

Cons: No cons so far.

Overall Review: If you have an info to give me about what DVDs are made up of, or a site you can give me in order to look this info up, please tell me. I would like to know what brands are better than others.

Pros: I bought this with my Samsung DVD+-RW drive, and have very good luck with them. They seem to work well for data, movies, etc. I use DVD shrink (with anydvd) + imageburn to back up DVD movies.

Cons: have noticed some very light scratches on the top of the disc, but they still play fine. I would recommend not using a wallet-style holder to hold them, since that is how the scratches got there in the first place.

Overall Review: Good quality, and good price. As always, newegg rocks!!!
