ViewSonic X Series VX2025WM 20.1" WSXGA 1680 x 1050 D-Sub, DVI-D Built-in Speakers LCD Monitor

Pros: I have purchased four (no more questions) displays for my home gaming system in the last year - as refresh rates have gone from 16ms to 8ms. None compare to this display. Envision 20.1" 1600 x 1200, Hyundai 1280 x 1024 - 8ms, Viewsonic 19" 12ms, and now this one.The colors on WoW and DDO are vibrant and crisp. I only use my monitors for gaming (I run two dual monitor systems) so I can't comment on other applications.There are people who comment of ghosting that have no clue what it means. Until you have run an 8ms monitor you have been experiencing ghosting without knowing it. I run an Nvidia 7800 GTX graphics card on both systems - I wish I would have bought four of these.

Overall Review: No dead pixels - ViewSonic displays are head and shoulders better than the others I have purchased. Kudos to Newegg for great service - the online chat is AWESOME

Pros: VERY bright, clean display that will look awesome on your desktop. I believe this monitor to be the best bang for the buck!

Cons: No left/right swivel, speakers are less than average...DON'T buy this monitor for the speakers - my cheap/free Dell speakers are better than those in this monitor.

Overall Review: No dead pixels - lucky me! The display is very bright, so bright that I had to drop it back about 30% from factory default. And, of course, New Egg had it here before I could blink. I'm gonna name my next child "NewEgg".

Pros: Excellent quality... until smoke came out of it.

Cons: Monitor died in 2 days of reception. TERRIBLE customer service.

Overall Review: After 2 days receiving this monitor, it died on me. I went through Viewsonic's customer service to ge ta replacement. The first time I called, I was told to fax in my proof of purchase and I would receive my advanced replacement monitor within 2 days. I did this, got an email confirmation, waited 2 days and nothing happened. The second time I called, the representative said there was a problem at their end as they thought I was supposed to send this monitor back first. So the representative said he fixed the problem and that a new monitor would be on its way to me. I waited 3 days and no monitor came. The third time I called, which was today, the new representative told me I needed to fill out a form for the advanced replacement. And after that I *should* receive the monitor. This is where I am at now. It's been over 2 weeks since I purchased this monitor. I used it for 2 days, and experienced the WORST customer service I've seen in a long time. Also, choose FedEx and avoid

Pros: <1" bezel makes use in multiheaded applications more pleasant. Stand feels sturdy. Plastic door on the back to hide cable connections. Brilliantly bright.

Cons: Information display tends to lie: when set to a resolution it can scale to 1680x1050 it reports 1680x1050 - this can be confusing when you aren't sure yourself. No height adjustment. One dead pixel on mine in an unobtrusive place, top-rightmost corner.

Overall Review: NVidia's Linux drivers do not know 1680x1050 resolution by default. This wiki page gives the necessary ModeLine to make it work:

Pros: Awesome monitor. Very nice design with the silver trim. No dead/stuck pixels. Very little backlight bleed. Makes Oblivion come alive.

Cons: Cannot keep aspect ratio fixed using 91.36 Nvidia drivers with my 7900GT card. Display just says *Out Of Range*. Monitor does not support fixed aspect ratio scaling itself, so you have to rely on the video card drivers. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Overall Review: When i first hooked it up to my 7900GT DVI port, it just displayed *Out Of Range* on the display. I thought I was hosed, but I moved it to the other DVI port on my 7900GT card, and everything worked. Whew!

Pros: great big clean look LCD, very clear no dead in pix, smart options, all i can say if your looking for gaming display and HD view this is the one, i have a computer lab in my house and thats all i do test LCD displays, this one is on top. buy it great price for this display

Overall Review: i would buy more and more of this monitor

Pros: I was scared to get an LCD for a few reasons. One, ghosting, this monitor has absolutely no noticable ghosting. Half Life 2, Quake 4 (runs perfectly even though it is a dark game), and Fable are all awesome. This monitor has perfect color recreation. Toms hardware just did a comparison of 20" widescreens and this beast came out on top. I just built a computer and this is the only thing that completely amazed me. 2ms response times are completely unnecessary. Trust in all of the reviews that you read on this monitor it is truely astounding. You cannot go wrong with this monitor.

Cons: You cannot watch movies on this monitor, at least not the matrix.But thats why people invented TV's. This monitor has the famous X baclight blead which is completely bearable. you will only notice when there is a black screen up. Seriously, do not worry about the back light bleeding, it is nothing that gets in the way.

Overall Review: this monitor is very bright i have my brightness and contrast in the 30's. if you play games you may need to buy a new graphics card to run this at 1680x1050. I have 2 7600 GS and they will run current games without AA ... so i blew another 100 dollars and am upgrading to a 7900GT KO superclocked.

Pros: No dead pixels! Widescreen format looks awesome on games that support it. I have tested COD2, Half-Life 2, FEAR, and Battlefield 2. They all look amazing with no ghosting.

Cons: Hmm, not many. Some games (Battlefield 2, for example) don't support widescreen out of the box, but it is correctable by modifying the target line in the shortcut.
