Absolute garbage...

Pros: It's not defective, it's just awful.

Cons: This is without a doubt the worst SSD I have ever purchased. It benched marked at being 5x slower (five TIMES!) than my SK Hynix Canvas and 3x slower than my old as dirt 30GB OCZ Onyx SSD. That's bad, but what's worse is that it's actually slow enough that it causes hitching (hard game freezes) when playing even old games from my GOG library, where my 5400RPM hard drive doesn't even do that while playing Elite Dangerous! That's not just sad, it's utterly pathetic for a solid state drive.

It's not even useful as a Linux boot drive. Maybe it will be OK in my Pentium 233MMX retro system as extra storage...

I don't know how Western Digital could make a SATA3 SSD that performs worse than a USB3 stick, but they did. Do not buy this piece of junk.

Overall Review: I have never before been disappointed with a Western Digital product. I would seriously be delighted to trade this for a 500GB WD Green 2.5" hard drive, which would actually be useful...

it happened to be the right price, i was lookin for

Pros: works fine right out of the box, after formatting it

Cons: if you dont mind having to wait almost 2 weeks to get it

Overall Review: if you dont mind waiting 2 weeks to get it, i didnt know this til after it was shipped, it wasnt from neweggs warehouse....but it works fine

WD Green 120GB PC SSD - SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5"/7mm Solid State Drive

Pros: I bought this drive to use in my wife's old ASUS netbook. I installed Linux Mint and it works great. The netbook is too underpowered to gain a lot of speed from the upgrade, but it helped. Quick, easy install.

Cons: none so far.
